Ninja Turtles Concept Art Hints at Kid Cudi Involvement

Those worried about Ninja Turtles being neither Mutants nor Teenagers might want to worry a little more. The twenty-eight year old Rapper Kid Cudi has recently tweeted about his involvement in the project, offering a look at possible concept art from one of the creators of the franchise, Kevin Eastman. And it has a decidedly Space (sci-fi) feel to it. Check it out.

We're not sure who this turtle is, but Kid Cudi had this to say about the art.

"An original one of a kind sketch of a unknown Ninja Turtles by one half of the creators, Kevin Eastman. A gift given to me by my homies Andrew Form and Bradley Fuller over at Platinum Dunes. Hint hint mane."


The "not teenage" rapper also dropped this hint about his involvement.

"To everyone with doubts & concerns about the new TMNT reboot, trust me, there is NOTHING to worry about. Trust. Everyone will be pleased! I was skeptical as well, but by no means is this movie gonna suck. Huge fans will be happy."


This all seems to indicate that Kid Cudi is involved with the project in some capacity. But to what avail? Is he voicing one of the turtles? Will Casey Jones get an ethnicity makeover? Will they ditch April O'Neil for a young black reporter whose first real news story is about Turtles from space that know karate? Or is he simply providing the musical backdrop for this planned reboot of the franchise ala Vanilla Ice? None of this is known at the moment.

Where do you want to see Kid Cudi in Ninja Turtles? Do you want to see him at all? Or is he the next, "Go, ninja! Go, ninja, Go!" of this franchise? A Ninja Turtles that says "Mane" instead of "dude". Are you down with that?

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles comes to theaters June 6th, 2014 and stars Megan Fox, Alan Ritchson, Pete Ploszek, Jeremy Howard, Noel Fisher, Will Arnett, Danny Woodburn, William Fichtner. The film is directed by Jonathan Liebesman.

    you guys are all worried about nothing! if you were real turtle fans you would know that the alien-turtle concept is not new... ever heard of slash? slash was an alien turtle from a planet of humanoid turtles. if you f*cktards read the comic book instead of dwelling on the cartoon you would that the mutogen that mutated the turtles is of alien origin. the tmnt universe is much more complex then just 4 mutant turtles and a ninja rat

    This is getting worse and worse!!!! I dont care about Cudi so much, but the concept art just lets me know how far its been taken from the original intent. Wether the movie is good or bad doesn't matter at this point, it just wont be TMNT. I would completely give my consent as a fan if they just changed the name, I mean really at this point its the last thing to go, at its half way there already. I hate you Michael Bay!!!

    @jasonkat or their space happens to lands near and hidden by a factory given the reasons why they might be mutants instead of aliens. For me I liked the 1st two movies of the turtles, I thing is lets not go overboard with the length of the films like he did with transformers and not do poorly done jokes on pop-culture.

    i think we are all jumping the gun... HAPPENS EVERYTIME... with concept art, or comments by the creators... I am sure some of you will disagree but this is only concept art or maybe even just a sketch as a gift but nothing to do with the film... so for the next year and a half we all have to deal with the complaints and grievances until the first trailer comes out, then we have to deal with all the "this looks bad ass", "I am seeing it first day", and "MICHAEL BAY IS A GENIUS" comments... okay that last one took it a bit too far, but you see my point hopefully.
