Nicole Kidman to Star in The Eighth Wonder

Nicole Kidman is attached to star and produce The Eighth Wonder, Simon Kinberg's action-adventure pitch for 20th Century Fox.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, details of the plot are being kept under wraps, but the story centers on an archeological discovery that sets off a globe-spanning race. The goal is to create a movie that will be to Raiders Of The Lost Ark what the The Bourne movies are to James Bond movies: a character-driven, treasure-hunting thriller.

Kinberg will write the script in the fall.

You heard it from me first. The germ for Kinberg's pitch came from this article...

I reckon she could pull it off...she was orginally meant to play Mrs Smith in Mr and Mrs Smith but she had to pull out because of other commitments or something

Interesting view of things there, Vis, LOL! You need to learn to be more open to films, though when I read the headline, my first thought was "King Kong Sequel?" too.

Last time i checked, king kong was the eighth wonder of the world, so unless this has a giant monkey in it who's horny for a blonde chick, count me out

    They're both hot Aussies.

I guess it could possibly work, I mean she was great in "King Kong." Why would she change now? My only disappointment with Nicole was in "Bewitched" which just didn't turn out to be like I thought it would, and then they went and put Will Ferrell in it. "Bewitched" was funny I suppose, but that could have been SOOOO much better. My favorite Kidman movie has definitely been "Moulin Rouge," though. Like all of you, though, I can't really picture her in an action film, but we'll see how it plays out. Has an interesting premise I suppose, comparing it to "Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark."

I agree W./"The Kwisatz Haderach" ...the plot does sound interesting...."The Bourne Films" Meets "Raiders Of The Lost Ark"...LOL Strange combo...but could be fun...But Ms Kidman as an action star I can't picture it!

your probably right there rama, her star power has been much help at all lately, lets not forget invasion which came and went faster than a b-rated horror film

    good point ramas.

i like kidman but her name alone isnt enough to get me to buy a ticket.

  14. Rama's SCREEN

Her star power hasn't helped her made her recent movies profitable.

The Invasion and The Golden Compass didn't do all that hot in the box office,

So it's fair to say that I'm doubting she could carry this action/adventure/thriller project.
