Nicole Kidman has signed on to star in and produce The Silent Wife, an adaptation of A.S.A. Harrison's novel.
Nicole Kidman becomes The Silent Wife
The story centers on a Chicago couple who have been married for 20 years. While they seem to live a happy life, the wife (Nicole Kidman) is unaware that the husband is seeing other women behind his back. The novel, which became a literary sensation shortly after it was published in June, alternates perspectives from the husband to the wife with each chapter. It was the first work of fiction from the author, who died just a few months before the book was released.
The actress is producing alongside Paula Mazur and Mitch Kaplan, whose Mazur/Kaplan company is financing the development. Per Saari is also producing through her Blossom Films company. A screenwriter hasn't been attached to adapt the material yet.
Nicole Kidman will next be seen in Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues, Grace of Monaco and The Railway Man.
