"After Valhalla Rising I thought the most surprising thing for me would be to go to Los Angeles and do a studio movie. Coming from a movie where I had complete control - I also own the movie - and had complete, kind of like, accessibility around me, and then going to Hollywood and doing a film within the studio, which is very much the opposite, I thought could be a very interesting experience for me.
I guess one of the aims I am having, but at the very early stage, I always wanted to do Wonder Woman as a feature film...Well, I would say that Wonder Woman is probably something that, to me, would be not just a satisfaction, but almost a [catharsis], and I was born to make it."

@SWAK1774 You are referring to the DCU Animated Original Movie, which was not a "cartoon" (defined as a series), but rather a feature film. And you are right, it was really good. The best incarnation of Wonder Woman. See I thought you meant like a cartoon show. I was like "how did I miss THAT one?!" LOL
@Moran I think Wonder Woman and The Flash movies are all that's left to come to the big screen now that Green Lantern is coming out, to warrant a Justice League epic. Supes and Bats already have their franchises. These are the Top Five of the JL. Some may also add Martian Manhunter or Aquaman for the 6th Spot, but I believe their films are unnecessary.

Insert of Evangeline. However, she is too old, and I can't fully see her in costume as opposed to Wilde.

@CBF: Wilde is also 13 from "House."
I could see Wilde or Evangeline Lilly in the role, although Lilly might be too old once this film finally gets underway. She's 31 compared to Wilde being 26.

There was a really good Wonder Woman cartoon that came out on DVD in 2009. You can watch it here online for free:

@SWAK1774 - What Wonder Woman cartoon?
@Insert - This movie is listed everywhere as being in "development hell," but you are probably right.
@Fallen - Olivia Wilde is Alex from The O.C., correct? I think she definitely has the look and can act. Not sure if she could hold down her own franchise as a super-heroine, though.
@Rufio - She doesn't really use the Invisible Jet anymore, since her Post-Crisis origin allows her to fly.

@ Todd89, Lynda Carter was the third actress to play Wonder Woman. The first was an unaired pilot from the 1960's and the second was an unsuccessful mid 1970's movie starring Cathy Lee Crosby as a blonde Wonder Woman! Finally, in 1975, Lynda Carter was perfectly cast as the Amazonian princess. I think, if she was younger, Catherine Zeta-Jones would have been a good Wonder Woman. Not Jessica Biel or Megan Fox. Biel turned it down, as Zynthos mentioned, and Fox said Wonder Woman is lame. I can't see either one of them as her anyway. Don't know who this Olivia Wilde person everyone keeps bringing up here. Will have to look her up.
By the way, I loved the Wonder Woman cartoon. It was surprisingly good.

Agreed gentlemen. Wilde is still up and coming although she is and will continue to go places. As @Fratson said, she is still young and willing to sign a contract.
She has sex appeal, can bulk up, looks the part, is in the right age group, and most importantly; she can act. I see that as a win/win/win and a good time.
As for director I wouldn't mind James Mangold. He did great with Walk the Line, outstanding with 3:10 to Yuma, and seems to be entertaining with Knight and Day. Each of his films seem to bring forth great character depth, without it being drowned in it, or having us miss the point/focus of the film. Besides he seems to be branching out to different categories. Drama with Walk the Line, Western with 3: 10 to Yuma, and now even action/comedy with Knight and Day. I think he's diverse enough and ready to move onto a new category: comic book adaption.

@courthouse - touche on the blande trinity comparison. From that role I would agree with her. I still think Wilde has the best look. And getting a younger actress to sign on for a multi deal - i think Olivia is still the best possible choice. She just has the right look and is def making big movies. I love her on house and cant wait to see her in Tron

Pick an awesome actress that has the talent, Linda Carter is the only one that has portrayed WW so far.

Biel bulked up nicely for Blade Trinity. Wilde would be nice. Megan Fox can suck it. I would like to see Odette Yustman working a lasso. I'd let her tie me up... wait, what?

Eh, Just watched the trailer for Valhalla Rising and I'm not very impressed. I think Zack Snyder would be a far better choice for director.

Id def take Olivia Wilde as WW. She is very skinny but if she puts on some muscle, which Im sure would be required, she would be perfect. Lawless 10 years ago - yes. She is too old now.

oh yea Lucy Lawless was always my choice, because she is well build and beautiful.

You people keep picking skinny chicks with no muscle to play a strong women, if anyone should play wonder woman it should be some one who is well build but still have that female sex appeal.

Anyone who has seen "Bronson" knows that this would be a Strange choice for Director. Could be good though. And I think that Jessica Biel Is, and always Will be, the Best choice for Wonder Woman

WW is a tricky project. any single decision could jack up the franchise! wrong woman as WW, wrong villain(s), awful effects, jack up the invisible jet or lasso... the list goes on. plus, a superhero in a bathing suit presents another challenge. too many ways that could go wrong, as well - namely over sexualizing her character. we'll see how this goes...

well as long as they don't pick Meghan Fox I'm ok. Michelle Pfieffer should play Hipolyta
