Nicolas Cage has joined the cast of Alex Proyas upcoming thriller entitled Knowing. According to Variety, Summit Entertainment is planning to fully finance and distribute the film.

The plot revolves around a teacher (Cage) that is assigned to examine the contents of a time capsule found at his son's school. A list of predictions found inside have already come true, which leads Cage's character to believe that the world is going to end in the next week. He learns that his son is somehow involved in the destruction.

The film will start production on March 17th in Melbourne, Australia.
