Nicolas Cage Is a Bad Lieutenant

Nicolas Cage is set to star in Werner Herzog's remake of the 1992 cult classic Bad Lieutenant for financier Nu Image / Millennium Films.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Pressman Film Corp. will produce the new version of its original Abel Ferrara NC-17 film about a drug- and sex-addicted corrupt cop. Cage takes the role originated by Harvey Keitel, with TV police show writer Billy Finkelstein scripting.

Production begins in July.

    i rewatched the bad lieutenant this past weekend and have to say that harvey keitel mastered that role, and in my opinion nicholas cage simply isnt talented enough to rival keitel in this role, making it pointless and insulting to harvey to remake this movie.

    thats what im saying. cage is the man no doubt. maybe its the directors fault for letting it be what it was(sh*t) but then in the other hand we have sir cage accepting these roles. its his responsibility as an actor to kno what is a good and a bad choice for a movie. so far i have only seen bad choices. and as phat pointed out, this is only adding fuel to the fire

    All I know is this is the beginning of the end, remakes will become the golden calf of Hollywood, next we will see them remake Star Wars, and The Departed, X-men, Pathfinder and 300 all within the next few years! its bullsh*t stegator!

    wtf? marcus ur my dog and up on here your insight is if not the best close 2nd to mine (lmao) but u lost respect for cage? number one the rider was not his fault who ever turned it into rodeo night at the cage's f*cked that up and next wasnt to bad its just weve seen it b4 and if you saw deja vu (denzel) then NEXT was a disapointment but to say he has lost acting skills is crazy at least in my eyes i think he's still tha man

    Yup..I agree Marcus, he's been going down hill with his movies...I didn't even bother whatcher Next and Ghost Rider, but i've seen the new National Treasure and I wasn't too impressed with the movie compared to the first one...His long hair and his big forhead are starting to piss me off...Maybe it's because he's loosing his hair, but his acting skills have gone down too...Anyways the plot of this movie kinda sucks...

    LAME! how in the hell can you remake a movie from 1992!? What the F**!! Hollywood I really losing respect for all of you cali screwballs, damn remakes! cant we write anything new?! It makes me sick, if its not a comic already drawn and written or a book you stela the idiea and murder the original novel, you have to remake films made in 92! Holywood you suck!
