Jackson is prominently featured in these shots as Nick Fury, although it seems his bad eye has gotten worse under that eye patch. Click on the photos below, which also feature Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, Scarlett Johansson as The Black Widow, Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner, Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark, and Chris Evans as Steve Rogers, to access our growing gallery.

Yes, and the Avengers is going to be a Disney/Marvel/Pararmount movie. So, the fact that Disney is involved, that's another reason why.

I also wish Norton were standing next to Downey Jr, but I'm by no means going to allow it to deter my enthusiasm for the project. Fiege is a douche, but Whedon's attached and that's definitely gone a ways to mollifying me.

The first trailer wasn't quite what I expected, but I still have faith in the project and the direction the franchise seems to be heading. I just can't wait for another trailer, one that'll put more emphasis on the actual plot of the film.

@themoviefanatic Because its not a Nick Fury film, it's an Avengers film. Wait until the other and you'll see

If that's how he got that scar, i can see why they didn't show that happening to him.

@bawnian-dexeus I see. That's a little...bland for a superhero movie, but it makes perfect sense. Now I know. Thanks!

Y'know, the more I look at Fury's beard, the more fake it looks :P But I sure do hope they explain how he got the scar!

anyone feel like these photos would be more badass if it were Edward Norton instead of Ruffalo in those pics?

@fat-jesus I love Whedon and most anything he touches is interesting at the worst, and brilliant more often than not... that being said, for some reason I share your concerns with this one. I don't know what it is, but my "Whedon boner" (lol) is not rock hard on this one. I hope we're wrong though.

I can't help but feel this movie is just gonna be painfully average. And all the Whedon boners will go flaccid.

I still think Mark Ruffalo is an absolutely HORRIBLE casting choice. I still believe that they should have brought Edward Norton back.....or at least gotten someone better than Ruffalo.
