Cage says that he spoke to studio executives a few months back about a possible sequel. "We talked about going international with that character, taking him into Europe, going on a motocylce tour through Europe." It stands to reason then, that with traveling through Europe, Ghost Rider might encounter some of the mysteries and secrets kept by the Catholic Church. "It has elements of it that are very much in the zeitgiest. like The Da Vinci Code and things like that."
Although it wasn't incredibly well-received by comic fans, Ghost Rider did fairly well at the box-office, so a sequel to the film doesn't seem impossible. Especially not if Cage is willing to use some of his own influence to see the film be made. Keep reading SuperheroFlix.com for more information about a possible Ghost Rider 2 as it becomes available.
Ghost Rider was released February 16th, 2007 and stars Matt Long, Raquel Alessi, Brett Cullen, Peter Fonda, Nicolas Cage, Donal Logue, Tony Ghosthawk, Hugh Sexton. The film is directed by Mark Steven Johnson.

I really didn't think it was that bad of a movie. One of my favorites, actually.

Cage wasnt bad it was the f*cking animation of the Ghost rider he looked way to fake the flim just seemed way too low budget theres way better CGI and they didnt take the time to perfect it make the movie rated R and come up with some better lines stupids

Someone rugged, JB. No pretty boy, no big-name actor. Although I don't have an idea of who just yet.
And Cage could cameo at the end, too, where he shows that he's been watching out for Ketch, who BTW is Johnny Blaze's brother, and how he turns his shotgun into his mystic hellfire gun. That would be the Blaze AND GR we as fans know from the books. And make it dark.

maybe Cage could have a cameo, the first 10 min would b about how he passed on the legacy 2 ketch. that way were all happy nic gets 2 b in it and we (the fans) get 2 c gf in a diff perspective, ne ideas who should play ketch?

Ghost rider 2 would be so much better without Cage.

I agree, there needs to be a reboot or recasting. Cage has been on the decline recently...just horrible acting!

How about Cage doesn't take Ghost Rider anywhere and the studio brings in Danny Ketch instead.

I watched this again on HBO the other night and seriously, this is top 5 worst movies ever.. The beginning with the kid and the whole "just sign on the line and give me your soul and I'll save your father" wow, total sh*t... and the bad guy characters, totally lame, self masking there voices and the terrible make up job. I could of sworn I was watching the thriller video a couple of times.. A sequel is a terrible idea, although I do appreciate Cages acting abilities, this needs a full overhaul.
Great character, terrible voice, terrible villains, terrible acting.. it just needs new everything. Needs to be a whole hell of a lot darker IMO.

movie b is right. hes not the best or the worst, i had high expectations 4 the first 1 (ie johnny blaze)in the fact that nic cage is a huge comic fan himself (y he changed his name 2 cage after Luke cage powerman an named his son kalel) but in an interview he said he hardly took the role seriously. he even laughs when he first turns into gr( if u look closely) i mean gf is a badass character, a flaming skull riding a motercycle hunting demons, whats not to love? this movie has potential, even if cages career as a superhero doesent.

Honestly.. he never really could act very well. Just look at him in most of his movies. His facial expression is always of a man in pain or turmoil. Puppy dog eyes and all. Con-Air, The Rock, Bangkok Dangerous, Face/Off (when he becomes Sean Archer, not Castor Troy), Snake Eyes, 8MM, Family Man, etc. All the same expressions. He did spread his wings a bit in Face/Off as Castor Troy... but not as Sean Archer.. same sh*t.
The only reason he was a big hit was because the story of the movies he starred in were good. The movies I mentioned above probably would have been even better with a better actor. He's not a bad actor... just not a good one.

I'm all for a sequel, the first one wasn't that bad. They need a new director, the problem with the first were his fault, not Cages. He is still a great actor, he's just not making the best choices right now.

sounds good to me but i reckon if hes saying sh*t like that he may not stay faithul to the comic but ah well there wasnt much of it in the first but i liked and it seems like a good idea. oh and dont revamp it thats just an easy way out of sh*t nowadays :)

Hoisin, don't talk down to me.
I liked Leaving Las Vegas, and yeah, Nic Cage started out all right, but when I say "he can't act" maybe you didn't notice, or maybe you're just stupid, but I used the present tense. I didn't say he couldn't act or has never been able to.
I really wish Cage would start directing. He has a good head for what people want to see in movies, he just can't execute it in front of the camera anymore.
