The National Football League is joining forces with Tony Krantz and Ron Shelton to develop a new sports drama titled Week 14.

The sports drama will be a four-quadrant feature in the same vein of Oscar Best Picture winner Crash. The story will take us through the last three weeks of the NFL regular season, following the lives of fictional players, coaches and their families.

Flame Ventures' Tony Krantz (Sports Night) will be directing from a script written by Ron Shelton (Bull Durham). No casting details have been released.

Production is scheduled to begin after Super Bowl XLVII.

@thedude-abides agreed... that would make sense... don't think that will be much good either, but would definitely be a lot better!

  3. I AM FRATSON

Just bring back Playmakers. Oh wait, thats right, the NFL pressured ESPN to cancel the show bc it showed Professional football players in a bad light. SO lets just create a fictional show that wont have any of the enjoyable story lines Playmakers had.

  4. THE JOKER

No... No... NO!!!! We like to watch football... don't milk the cow NFL, do you not already make enough money off of the $200-300 jerseys, endless packed stadiums, tv time, merchandise, parking, food... you get my freaking point... I am losing hope in Hollywood... If your goal was to get people back into reading, keep doing what you're doing because I am hating watching TV anymore...
