What if this could answer the question.....? How would we treat an alien race if we can not tolerate our species due to colour or religious beliefs.

This might at least be thought provoking

Yeah, I was expecting a doc*mentary about world hunger or something, then all of a sudden, its the space ship from Close Encounters, just not as cool. Pass, until I see something more.

I'm not entirely sure... The alien-bug with the subtitles struck me as comical for some reason, and I don't think that was what the movie was intending. I'll wait to see some more from the film before I pass my final judgment.....

I first saw this trailer when I saw Wolverine. I first said this looks like a great doc*mentary. Then I see an alien spaceship, and then I think of course.

  18. J.A.Ottley.Writer / Director

Neil Blomkamp is an advertising director, this is his first shot at a feature length film, well his first was meant to be Halo, but the financialing issues went through the roof.

What do you think Neil's main goal is going to be?

Any way here is the plot synopsis from wikipedia

District 9 is based on Alive in Joburg, a short film produced by Neill Blomkamp, Sharlto Copley, Simon Hansen and Shanon Worley. Copley also portrayed one of the interviewed policemen. The short film is about aliens landing in South Africa and becoming contained to a specific area and forced to work. In the movie these aliens are called "Non-Humans" and are overseen by Multi-National United (MNU), a company which is utilizing alien technology.

Here is the short film 'Alive In Joburg,. in which the film is based on, which is a 6 min short by Neil Blomkamp, that he did during the Halo Campaign.
