New Toy Story Short Will Debut with Cars 2: World Grand Prix

A new Toy Story short will debut in front of Cars 2
Pixar has stated many times that this Friday's Toy Story 3 will be the last film in the franchise, and serves as the final act in what has been a very lucrative and popular trilogy. But, as with anything that makes money in Hollywood, there have been murmurings about a proposed fourth film. In an article from MSN, director Lee Unkrich makes it clears that there are no solid plans for a Toy Story 4, but that Buzz and Woody aren't going away forever. In fact, a number of the toys from Toy Story 3 will be back next summer in an all new, untitled short film that will premier before Cars 2: World Grand Prix when it opens on June 24th, 2011.

Here's what Lee had to say:

"Well, I really tried my best to end the story of Andy and his toys and bring that story to a close in a really nice way at the end of this film. That being said, we know that people love the characters, love Woody and Buzz, and would hate to say good-bye to them completely. I don't know that there would ever be a Toy Story 4. We don't have any plans for one -- but we are trying to find ways to keep the characters alive. We have announced we're going to do a short film in front of Cars 2: World Grand Prix that uses the Toy Story characters. We're going to keep them alive; they're not going away forever."

Cars 2 was released June 24th, 2011 and stars Larry The Cable Guy, Owen Wilson, Michael Caine, Emily Mortimer, Eddie Izzard, John Turturro, Brent Musburger, Joe Mantegna. The film is directed by John Lasseter, Brad Lewis.

They need to do another Toy Story! TS3 was awesome. Pixar topped themselves again! The new movie could be Woody and the gang and all of the new toys going to find Bopeep and her sheep and all of the other toys who where lost over the years. It could be a new chapter with Bonnie. It would be more money for them for sure. Like they said, anytime money is being made.....

i like that ur name is AVATARSEQUAL but ur complaining bout Disney making Pixar make sequels (and yeah it is sequel not sequal). that doesn't make sense. and either way i think ur wrong. Pixar hasn't had a movie that wasn't a huge success yet, so y would Disney force them to make a "sure thing" in a sequel when they already r a sure thing cuz everyone knows Pixar means quality.

if Toy Story 3 was any indication of wut Pixar can do with their sequels then we have nothing to worry about. and plus they rn't rushing their sequels Cars came out wut like 4 years ago, maybe 5. and Incredibles is the most needed sequel of all the Pixar movies.

Because Disney has it's hands deep into Pixar now. Instead of allowing original ideas, their forcing Pixar's hand into making sequels, trying to soak up as much cash as they can from already established franchises.

I would have much rather seen Newt make the light of day. Even if it wasn't all that great, at least it was original and I'd have given it props for that.
