Middleton states, "It's post-apocalyptic. It's set after the events of [Terminator 3: Rise Of The Machines], where we see the nuclear exchange at the end of the movie, and we show what the world is like after this event, and we show how people try to deal in a post-apocalyptic world. And we introduce a new character, who becomes very important to the resistance and to John Connor, a new hero. It's really about the birth of a new hero."
About John Conner, James says, I would look at him as a character that is introduced and that will grow in the second and third movies of the trilogy."
He also chimes in on Arnold Schwarzenegger's involvement in the film, "He has been approached, and in the early days of our development of T4, one of our producers, Andy Vajna, who's a good friend of his, spoke to him about doing a cameo. This was even before he was governor. But we know now that he is governor, he's got priorities that are above doing movies."
Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins is scheduled for release in 2009.
Terminator Salvation was released May 21st, 2009 and stars Christian Bale, Sam Worthington, Moon Bloodgood, Helena Bonham Carter, Anton Yelchin, Jadagrace, Bryce Dallas Howard, Common. The film is directed by McG.

I think it would be a huge mistake to have T800's in the first of the new movies especially if it is set right after the apocalypse. In the original story line it took decades of engineering on cyberdyne's part to create several series of Terminators... the first:T-100 we sall in Terminator3: Rise of the Machines, then there are many others inculding the T400's and the T600's which where humanoid but had fake rubber skin... If they start out directly after the nuclear war with technology that doesn't exist yet, it just won't make sense or feel right.
I am a huge fan of James Cameron and his legacy that HE created. What ever storyline Holywood decides to go with will be seriously jacked up if they were to place T800's in this first film... They have to show some sort of continuity of evolution with the Terminator models, and to that extent there would also be no reason to include Arnold in any of the new films but the last since he is only one of many models (model 101) of the series T800 we should have a chance to see other models of the T800's as well, like The Rock could play one or even Sylvester Stallone... he was ripped in his new Rambo flick.
I just hope that the first of these new movies show the T400's which look kida like Robocop or the Cylons with an armored exoskeleton then maybe see some T600's in the second movie then the T800's and T900's and even a couple of T1000's running around in the third movie. I think that would do justice to the original idea and storyline that James Cameron created.

It would be nice to have arnold and yes it will feel different not having him in the movie. however, his absence won't necessarily taint the movie. I'm sure the storyline and special effects will be amazing. So, just set aside the fact that arnold might not be in this movie and when it comes out go see it with an open mind.

I still say to have a 3 movies combine into the 4th one showing on how the terminators went back and all that blah blah blah, sure arnold ccoooouuuld maybe do a camoe but not stearing away from the somewhat story line of John Conner and so forth, but their commandors or command line, what ever you call it, they died in the third so they would slowly disappear in the fourth....who ever has an open mind should understand what is said sheesh

THE JOKER
yeah i agree they need Arnold. I have said that from the beginning. but at this point they need more than just Arnold. The war has already begun. You need more than one terminator for the war. Its not all the humans against Two Terminators. I wish there was a wy to get Arnold but i dont think he is going to do it.

i think they need to have the robots for sure. and alot of them. but then have a few people in the skinned version of the robots. remember this is derectly following the other movie. They havent created all the terminators with the human skin yet. So yes in a way. but they really have alot of bugiting to do for this kind of movie. after all they are at war with MACHINES. but they definitely need a few big, yet talented people to come and play the NEWLY designed human skinned terminators.

they should have the terminators without there skin just robot form in the movie and have fake clones of Arnold saying there gunna send them back in time to handle some dirty work or some bullsh*t because any terminator movie without havin Arnold to do somthing with it will most likely bomb

well is seems that John Connor will be in it at some point and thats good. But i think Vin Deisel would be fine actualy. I think there are probably better choices out there. but I cant say i think he would do a bad job witht the role. and actually they honestly wouldnt really need just one. there is no more sending terminators back in time. the war has already started. they will be developing multiple human skinned terminators so they would probably want to ahve a few people to come in and play the terminators.

Sounds cool. But I'm not going to judge this movie before I see it. I've liked all the Terminator movies so far, so I'm pretty sure (or at least hoping) that this one will be cool too.
