George Lucas is rumored to be planning more Star Wars movies
IESB is reporting that fans can expect the new trilogy after the entire saga is released in 3D which is expected to be complete around 2015 or 2016. Their source also claims the movies will not be prequels, but sequels. It's not for certain if they will be the long awaited Episodes 7, 8 and 9 but could instead be Episodes 10, 11 and 12.
Wired chimed in with a quote from Lucasfilm spokesman Josh Kushins:
"This is, of course, is completely false," Lucasfilm spokesman Josh Kushins wrote to Wired. "George Lucas has plenty of projects to keep him busy right now - including plenty of Star Wars projects - but there are no new Star Wars feature films planned."
New films or not, the live action Star Wars television series is currently in development, already has over 50 scripts ready to go and plenty of pre-production time and money spent on artwork and storyboards. Once that show goes into production, Lucasfilm hopes to be able to produce at least 100 episodes since that is the threshold for syndication in the United States.
Only time will tell about the reality of a new trilogy, but we gotta ask, does the idea of a new Star Wars trilogy get you exicted?
Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope was released May 25th, 1977 and stars Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Peter Cushing, Alec Guinness, Anthony Daniels, Kenny Baker, Peter Mayhew. The film is directed by George Lucas.

Are you guys mad . First of all stop saying F%$k all the time use your language and writing skills to express your opinion. A word like that should only be used rarly when it really holds or shows displeasure. You'll find in writing that swearing can be very very powerfull language if used sparingly. Using f^Ck as every second word takes all the "umph!" out of the word. In any event I am so tired of people trashing of absolutley loving the prequels. Sure PHantom Menace is the worst of the 6 movies, predominatly because of the character Jar-JarBinks and J.lloyd's acting. There where some amazing things about this movie however, Darth Maul , the best villan after Vader created by Lucas. He must come back with electronic legs in a sequal, he died way too early. The prerquals got better each time by the time Sith comes around Lucas is back in full force putting together the best Star Wars Movie ever.(my rankings 1)sith 10/10,2)Empire 9.5/10, 3) A New Hope 9/10, 4)Attack 8.5/10, 5)Jedi 8,5/10, 6)Phantom 8/10. He has to finish the 9 part series we where promised.I will be dissapointed if he at least doesnt do a single final movie between episodes 3 and 4. This could delve into why Vader is subsurviant to Tarkan in A New Hope, and why the D-star took so long to build . Also we can look at perhaps a battle between two Darth's for the Emporer's afections and more. I would much rather see the full 9 but either scenario would pacify the need for a full closer.

I sure hope Lucas changes his mind and decides to make Star Wars Episodes 7,8 and 9. This is because Episode 9 is supposedly going to be called Victory Of The Force. It's where the Jedi defeat the dark side FOREVER!!! I'm sure everybody that is reading this including George Lucas will agree that defeating the dark side forever is a better way to end the Star Wars saga than just Luke Skywalker redeeming his father.

Wickedness
George Lucas really had it for the original series, but he lost it with the new saga. What I say is if his ego doesn't get in the way (and his love for CG) to make more like the original I say YES! If he is inflating his ego even more I say PLEASE GOD NO! Less is more George.

If anything, they should be relabeled again:
Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga: Episodes 1-6
Star Wars: The _________ Saga: Episodes 1-?

Screw Force Unleashed, that Jedi/Sith wannabe is in no way responsible for the creation of the Rebel Alliance...

Dude, this is horrible. I mean, George Lucas is a genius, but everything happened that needed to happen in the SW movies. Unless it's a prequel, then I think this idea is awful.

Or how about a film series without numbers, a bit more like Bond.
There is more than enough tales in books, comics, and video games.
Force Unleashed trilogy and KOTOR to think of two prime examples would make great films.

Like I said before its the same reason why Terminator will always piss on T2.

@Cyn No one sides with this guy, I know you are new to this site, but every 6 months to a year we have pricks like this guy, usually trolls. It is inevitable that you may run into these types of attacks on your opinion and/or character at one point or another. However this site also has good, friendly people. We have gotten some trolls banned. The many outweigh the few. Despite being new, you have proven yourself to be one of the better users of this site with a sense of humor and a logical, intelligent matter of opinion. I side with all others asking you to stay.

And oh I'm 33, and I've been a die hard star wars fan (even got a tattoo of star wars) since I was 6 years old so don't tell me that crap that "The fact is the last 3 Star Wars movies were always going to disappoint those of us whose childhoods were consumed with the mythology of the original Trilogy. In fact, I think of them as 2 entirely separate entities. But that's just me." that's the dumbest sh*t I've ever read on here... Congrats... The entire saga was fine, and crafted extremely well had it been anyone other then George Lucas, and you sh*theads would be singing his praise but since it's become popular to bash him because of idiots like "Cyn de Harven" who just don't understand the FACTS of the storyline or remember that this is a movie for kids! We have to deal with people bashing the man.
Star Wars is for kids, and your an adult so your not watching it now as a kid your watching it as an adult, and it's a different era, and so you view the new movies negative because they aren't the characters you loved as a kid... But guess what most if not all kids today loved the new trilogy if not they would have all flopped at the boxoffice, and the dvd sales would have been terrible... Neither happened all 3 movies made a ton of money at the boxoffice, and the dvd's sell like crazy.
My nephews are as much a fan of the new trilogy as I was of the old one when I was a kid, and saw the old trilogy.
Fact remains is your a grown up who's forgotten that STAR WARS is a kids movie first... Like I said keep your ignorance to yourself.

Cyn de Harven your an idiot she was 14 or 15 tops in episode 1 and he was 11 or 12 in the movie... That's not a big age difference, and so what my dad was 10 years younger then my mother, Demi Moore is 25 years older then Ashton... Sh*t happens... It's nothing creepy about it.
She was a young queen because on Naboo they elect their queens at a young age it's how it's done there, and it's clear you no nothing about the storyline if THAT is your complaint... So please keep your ignorant opinions to your self.
And when did she baby sit? lol Seriously your a complete moron, and yes this was a galaxy far far away, and so they aren't going to act like earthling lovers... God you fanboys are pathetic morons sometimes.
2 years agoby @thajackalFlag
Cyn
It's just creepy if you end up dating someone you babysat once.
@Josh - because. lol
Anyway, it happened in a galaxy far far away. It's not real.
Hayden was good in Shattered Glass and Life as a House, he was terrible as a young Anakin, he was better as Anakin got darker, but not great.
The fact is the last 3 Star Wars movies were always going to disappoint those of us whose childhoods were consumed with the mythology of the original Trilogy. In fact, I think of them as 2 entirely separate entities. But that's just me.
2 years agoby @cyn-de-harvenFlag
Josh
It was only a five-year age difference between them, and Anakin is in his 20s when they start a romantic relationship. How is that creepy?
2 years agoby @shuabertFlag
Dan
I take a mix of what @Cyn said and what @Lane1 said, and find that to be a good middle ground for the BS that was the SW prequel movies.
Oh, and like I said earlier. The best thing about the prequels? Portman. The worst? Her death. Pfffft. I knew she was gonna die, but I still say Pfffft to that.
2 years agoby @dan1Flag
Lane
@Cyn: I agree with the fact that the age difference made their relationship look pretty creepy, but people who are 10, 15, or 20 years apart get together everyday and we don't always find it creepy (all just depends on who it is) so I don't think it really makes much difference here, either. I believe the creepiness factor came from Hayden and Hayden alone. Nobody (well, most people) liked him or his acting - Period. So in that sense he just came off pretty creepy as his acting was so unbelievable it made his performance unbelievable as well. We couldn't care for his character because we couldn't care for HIM.
As for Portman, I didn't see her acting as being wooden. It was kiiiiind of wooden in Episode III, but when you're acting next to Hayden, I think its easy to see how that might rub off a bit, lol. If anything she was a little wooden in #3 but did great in the rest. Plus, if you look at her performance in Episode I compared to the others, the fact that she was playing 2 completely different characters as Padme and The Queen, who's characters look, feel and personalites were the exact opposite of each other, I think its easy to see that Natalie's acting was the winner there. The Queen was wooden because her character called for it while Padme's character called for something else. So if you compare the two, you can really tell that Portman acted great. :)

Yes, everyone listen to ThaJackaL. God forbid you should be posting your personal opinions about movies on this site.
Listen, IN MY OPINION (since apparently it doesn't seem clear to you that that's what people post here) Natalie Portman was very cute in her role. And wooden. Hayden Christensen was tall and decent looking in his role. And wooden.
And a galaxy far far away is all fine and dandy. But a young woman falling in love with some kid she was more than old enough to babysit when they first met is still creepy.
So whatever dude. If you don't like personal opinions from other people why are you reading them?

I think you guys are missing the point of the trilogy... They we're meant to be a bit off this takes place in a galaxy far far away why do you people think their love story is going to like what you expect from an romantic movie like the notebook? I mean come on she was a young queen he was a slave who became a Jedi they acted their parts extremely well, and it's just stupid ass fanboys who jumped on the I gotta bash George Lucas cus it's cool bandwagon who don't seem to get it!
Hayden was fine as Anakin I thought he lacked a bit in Episode 2 but he took the role over, and made it his own in episode 3, and I loved every minute of that movie... I enjoyed the entire saga except for 1 character... You know who... He's a gungan which should have never been in the movies to start with but hey knowing George in a few years he will re-re-re-release a brand new re done version minus JAR JAR!!! heh One can only hope.
But seriously Portman played her role great, and looked amazing doing it, and Hayden was good as Anakin, and great in episode 3.
His turn to the dark side was a masterpiece! I just simply loved the movie... So whatever you negative people if you don't like the movies why do you watch them?
