It seems like they would have to elaborate a bit more for this scene to make sense, if it's the only one. Cool kick ass scene though.
I think I remember seeing that creature in the trailer. It reminded me of the ones from The Wrath of Kahn.
Chekov: 'Oh Sirdr, it was Kahn". Kirk: "It's okay, you're safe now" Chekov: "He...put crdeatures..in our booties...to c*nthrol our minds! He tdried to make us say lies, do tings, but we beat him. He thought he c*nthroled us, but he DID NOT. The kiptin was sthrong".
