True. All fans will go see this but I think somebody young and hot should play Spider-Man. How about Jensen Ackles from Supernatural?

Jeez. There's so many nay sayers on this site. What the f*ck man? 85% of the people on this thread will go see it, and most of them will probably like it.

And 3D is a bit annoying but at least they're gonna shoot it from the top up and not chuck it on later.

And last but not least, this NEEDS a reboot. If your a fan at all you honestly know that it deserves one.

Fox is a great actor, but he's too old for Peter Parker. I'll throw a new name out there: Josh Hutcherson.

To Vanboy: Now Star Wars in 3D will be a TRULY amazing experience! I can just picture the X-wing/Tie Fighter dogfight above the Death Star now... and how cool will the Trench Run be?!

Thomas Dekker...picture Peter Parker going "emo" for a scene in Spider-Man 3...now picture that the entire movie.

Cuz that's what you'd get if Dekker was Peter Parker.

Yes Barkx, it is used as a tool to tell the story, as well as to further envelope the viewer into the world in which the director intended. I'm glad to see that more people like yourself are coming around to the understanding that 3D, in today's film industry, HAS matured into a (finally) appreciated, less criticized art form.

Of course there will always be the people who say we should still be listening to vinyl, so the medium will have it's comrades as well as foes.

I have always enjoyed 3D movies as far back to when The Creature From the Black Lagoon was broadcast in 3D over network television back in the mid seventies. 3D has finally rooted itself successfully in cinema and I, along with all of those adventure seeking movies fans, who catapulted Avatar into the stratosphere, couldn't be happier.

Now we just have to wait until George Lucas finishes turning the Star Wars saga into 3D movies, and then it will be an awesome geek fest indeed my friend.

I will happily admit, that I tend to be an "Optimistic-Skeptic" to most things in life, in particular news items posted on this site surrounding many of the movies that I enjoy, and am looking forward to seeing. What I mean by an "Optimistic-Skeptic" is that I am HOPEFUL that these movies are good, yet hold a certain amount of CYNICISM that they will fail.

So when I first heard about the current spate of 3D films that were being made, I hoped they would be good films. Good films in terms of plot, characterization, dialogue, the soundtrack and all the other elements that make a great movie a truly GREAT movie... but in 3D!

I did not want to see a movie for the sake of seeing it in 3D.

When I saw Up! and Avatar, I did walk in with a fair amount of skepticism that these movies were going to be gimmicky, relying on the thrill of the "3rd Dimension" to wow audiences, and dupe them into thinking they were half-way decent films because of the fact they were in 3D.

I thought these were great movies, which used 3D as a tool to tell the story, and weren't relying on the tool as a gimmick. So whenever I hear that a film is going to be released in 3D, as is the trend at the moment (Clash Of The Titans, the Spider-Man Reboot and many many others!) I am SKEPTICAL that they are just going to be a 3D gimmick, yet OPTIMISTIC that they are going to be a great movie... but in 3D!

That is my humble opinion, and I'm sticking to it... Thank you for reading : )

ok, 3D, thats cool but id rather them pay more attention on making an amazing spider-man movie, make sure the cast is right, the storyline/plot is top notch and on a personal note i hope the villians are darker and meaner!

The 3D experience, will only continue if movie-goers continue to pay for that kind of vision. Hollywood will continue to throw out 3D films for profit and it appeals to kids. You guys make James Cameron seem like he invented the third dimension. He made it more profitable along with entertaining.

Spider-Man in 3D makes sense but is ridiculous. The Final Destination was unoriginal, looked pathetic and to mention-the scenes made for 3D viewing for very noticeable. I understand that you guys are fed up with remakes/reboots and 3D but you have to accept it for what it is and see it in 2D only.

I don't like 3D effects at all. The majority of people see it in 2D, and the 3D elements look superimposed and poorly rendered. I noticed it especially in The Final Destination. At least this should have a bigger budget to deal with polishing out effects like that...
Still, the Ultimate universe is where the Spider-Man films should have originally been inspired. It's the richest source material, both in terms of original artistry and characterisation.
