New Scene Not in the Book Added to Harry Potter 6

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince producer David Barron has announced that a new scene will be added to the franchise hit, which was not in the book. According to Snitchseeker.com, David Barron gave the details to Australia's Herald Sun, which you can read below:

"But this was brought in because Jo (Rowling) was able throughout the quite lengthy book to keep dropping little snippets of what was happening in the outside world - there'd be people reading newspapers and talking about how somebody's parents had been killed, or somebody had been withdrawn from school because their parents didn't think it was safe."

"And we're making aware that the Muggle world is also experiencing these disasters, but thinks they are disasters rather than the work of Voldemort."

"The book is peppered with those moments, but we couldn't do that quite so easily in the film."

"So (the extra scene) comes in the middle of the film and it just reminds us the world is no longer a safe place. Even in what would normally be considered the safe haven of the Burrow, nobody's safe."

"I think you'll like it. It's quite effective."

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince is scheduled to be in theaters on November 21st.

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince was released July 15th, 2009 and stars Daniel Radcliffe, Michael Gambon, Dave Legeno, Elarica Gallacher, Jim Broadbent, Geraldine Somerville, Bonnie Wright, Julie Walters. The film is directed by David Yates.

Read the leaked script details. Nicely splits the action. Also helps with the Harry/Ginny story (spoiler, sorry)

I'm sorry you paid to see the same movie four times, especially at a corporate theater. Everyone has their own opinion about the movies. However, to even suggest that the new trilogy was "better" than the original is the declare oneself a brainless pawn who can be won over by shiny special effects. The new stories were mired in unnecessary political allegory, bad acting, and a complete lack of the charm that the originals possessed (namely, lack of comedic relief like Han Solo, and presence of comedic travesty (and racism) like JarJar Binks).
The original trilogy was awesome as only a sci-fi Western/Samurai/Greek Myth movie could be.
The new ones... they had better looking lightsabers, and I can't say much else for them.

I loved Episode III. Saw it 4 times in theaters. I must have seen it over 100 times since I bought the DVD the day it came out. And know what? I like the original trilogy just as much! Omg! What an atrocity that someone can like the new ones just as much, if not more than, the originals.

Just because it pulls in a lot of money doesn't mean HSM3 (and I hate dignifying it with it's own abbreviation) is a good movie. Remember that Episode III was crap, but it still pulled down almost 400 mil.

Yeah, well Hannah Montana made 30 million when it opened in only over 600 theaters. With HSM3 getting a very wide release, I guarantee it brings in over 50 million opening weekend easily.

comparing anything against the Saw "neverending story" means little to nothing.. Saw has exaggerated itself to death and I dont believe any movie going person can justify going to see HSM3, 'nuff said

  17. Moviemaniack1993

Excuse me Phatlightning, but maybe you didnt notice just how popular HSM is? When the sequel aired August 17th, 2007 it was, at that time, the most watched cable broadcast EVER. And the films are so popular that the 3rd will be hitting theaters against Saw V. Looks like Saw will not be the number one film in its week of release this year. And who cares if I like HSM. Zac Efron is gorgeous and talented.

Well CelluloidDreams, if you were any type of Harry Potter fan you would know that they already did this once in Prisoner of Azkaban with the shrunken head on the knight bus. That was never in Rowling's book, yet she approved of it for the movie. This seems fine with me.
