A riveting action-thriller, Push burrows deep into the deadly world of psychic espionage where artificially enhanced paranormal operatives have the ability to move objects with their minds, see the future, create new realities and kill without ever touching their victims. Against this setting, a young man and a teenage girl take on a clandestine agency in a race against time that will determine the future of civilization.
The Division, a shadowy government agency, is genetically transforming citizens into an army of psychic warriors-and brutally disposing of those unwilling to participate. Nick Gant (Chris Evans), a second-generation telekinetic or "mover," has been in hiding since the Division murdered his father more than a decade earlier. He has found sanctuary in densely populated Hong Kong-the last safe place on earth for fugitive psychics like him-but only if he can keep his gift a secret.
Push was released February 6th, 2009 and stars Colin Ford, Joel Gretsch, Djimon Hounsou, Dakota Fanning, Robert Tsonos, Brandon Rhea, Camilla Belle, Neil Jackson. The film is directed by Paul McGuigan.

Also, I stopped watching Heroes after the first couple episodes of the second season...so don't get too advanced without explanations for who characters are.

I'm not denying the Heroes is the X-Men on the small screen (maybe because they've had some of the same writers, and their are only so many cool superpowers to go around)
Messenger, I want to know, when you say every character has a parallel, do you mean someone with similar powers (which is unavoidable), or an ACTUAL parallel, as in the same mannerisms, motivations, position relative to other characters? Because I think it's pretty weak to argue that one show depicting superpowers is a rip-off of another series (also, are we talking X-Men comics or Movies, two different ball parks?) just because the powers bear similarity. I'm not saying Heroes isn't a total tear on X-Men, but you have to offer a stronger argument than that.

Thanks Comrade. This movie reminded me of something and I couldn't place it. You're right, it seems alot like Jumper.

Comrade I see where are coming from, it's ok if stories borrow elements from other stories but a blatant rip is what Heroes is you can go through just about every major character and find their parallel on X-men...they even had a "cure" plot line in Heroes..come on man open your eyes.....

I am skeptical about this. The trailer looked kind of cool, and I think this movie has the ability to do what Heroes is now trying to do, and what Jumper failed to do.
As for the X-Men/Heroes comparisons, this reminds me a lot more of Jumper or even Firestarter, and also, SO F*CKING WHAT? How many stories concerning multiple superpowered characters AREN'T going to look like X-Men or Heroes. Pretty soon some moron is going to start comparing The Avengers Movie to X-Men and Heroes.

Yeah Tyler I am allllllll about some entertainment and sitting back and enjoying a movie but I draw the line when the story has OBVIOUSLY been rehashed TWICE. It's hoping on the super hero ban wagon. I am almost a 100% sure that if Heroes came out a year before the first X-men movie came out (pretty much the highest grossing comic book movie to be released at that time) that it would have fallen flat. BUT companies are delivering what bring in the money.
People can piss and moan about how "Hollywood doesn't have any more idea's left" or "Hollywood sucks cause all they do is make super hero movies" WELL if the comic book movies did make so much freaking money they would make them! It's just like pro athletes getting paid butt loads of money! And how do they get that money? They get it from people who $20 hotdogs and $30 dollar beers at the game.

Heard that argument about it being just another Xmen/Heroes rip-off more than once, and it doesn't bother me in the least...from what I've seen so far this looks like damn good entertainment with a sweet cast to top. Clueless about how well the script will deliver but at least we should be in for a good show...
