Greetings from Vancouver, BC, where we will shoot a pick up scene during the night on top of a high-rise roof at below zero temperatures. I don't know what it is with this film, but apparently, the price of getting it right seems to be complete torture of both the crew and cast. Ha, ha. This time, though, we all seem to be less bothered by the conditions, mainly because we look forward to seeing each other again to complete a film we are all very proud of.
They say that if a film is blessed with the birth of a baby during its production it will have all the luck in the world and will be hugely successful. Well, fasten your seatbelts, because we had not one but two little ones arrive. None other than the Punisher himself, Ray Stevenson and his beautiful lady Betta celebrated the birth of their son Sebastiano Derek Stevenson (aka Future Punisher) on December 24th.
My cinematographer Steve Gainer actually missed the birth of his beautiful daughter Lexi Lu Gainer, since she was born during pre-production on October 12th, when we were buried in so much work that he couldn't leave Montreal even for a day. So there you have it -- The PUNISHER in luck -- not that we relied on that!!
My team and I spent a lot of time researching the comic books, Tim Bradstreet's art and all the reference films we decided upon. I think we watched one of those films at least 25 times during prep. Thank God Montreal has an endless supply of excellent wine and cheese, which made those sessions much more enjoyable.

Punisher: War Zone was released December 5th, 2008 and stars Ray Stevenson, Dominic West, Doug Hutchison, Colin Salmon, Wayne Knight, Dash Mihok, Julie Benz, Stephanie Janusauskas. The film is directed by Lexi Alexander.

Thanks. And yeah, I'm upset too, but it'll be interesting ot see what Stevenson brings to the role. Jane said that he didn't return because he wasn't willing to do a movie he didn't believe in. Wonder if that'll effect the movie any.

The Dark Knight will difinitely be better than this film. I'm excited about this, but it's no contest. Like Joker said, Batman's fan base is way more than the Punisher, and the Dark Knight has a great cast that make people who aren't even Batman fans want to see the movie. Dark Knight will be memorable. It's got Heath Ledger's last performance, and to make things even better, he's playing the friggin' Joker! This will just be another movie. Probably a good movie, but not that memorable. I think JOSE CTM just asked if would be better than the dark knight to see how people would react. And, yeah, it probably will tank, marcusx. heh, heh, heh

Oh! And by the way, those of you arguing that the new Batman must automatically be better that this flick: don't count yer chickens before they hatch.
All I'm saying is I can't see Batman willingly toss some hood of a sky-scraper or feed an old lady to a polar bear, unless he meant to save them at the last minute. Ol' Frank's gonna eat a taco and watch the show.

There is a god. This says to me, "Hey, don't worry. We've seen the previous two. We're not 're-inventing' or 'putting a new spin' on things. The stories are there, just like fruit from a tree. All we've got to do is pluck the choicest bits."

What the F#CK does that mean!? I don't want any cheese munchin', wine sippin', son's-a-bitches anywhere NEAR my Punisher movie. We know how that ends up, don't we Travolta?

what!? you actually think this has the potential to beat The Dark Knight...no. Batman for one is alot more popular. And The dark Knight is Heath's last film so they (as unfortunate as it is) will help boost the success of the film. BUT i do think this will be a good film. All these comic movies. I dont know what to do =)
