New Line to Take New Vacation
In the original road trip comedy, the Griswold family headed by parents Chevy Chase and Beverly D'Angelo take their two kids on a painful cross-country road trip that doesn't go as planned. It spawned many sequels including European Vacation in 1985, Christmas Vacation in 1989 and Vegas Vacation in 1997.
New Line is meeting with writers, but a rough idea for the story has already been worked: the new feature will focus on Rusty Griswold, the son of Clark Griswold, who takes his own family on a road trip vacation. It is possible that Chase and D'Angelo will make appearances as grandparents.

Well, Hall was replaced by Jason Lively in European Vacation. Lively was replaced by Johnny Galecki in Christmas Vacation. Galecki was replaced by Ethan Embry in Vegas Vacation. The daughter was replaced just as many times. Chase even made a joke in Vegas Vacation. He said, "Gee, you kids are growing up so fast, I hardly recognize you anymore." They would have to get him back. I don't think anybody will bother if there isn't anybody as familiar in it.
And it sounds like Chase and D'Anjelo will only do cameos. This might suck.
If Hall comes back, it will be his first time back to the series since 1983, which was his first theatrical role.
Loved when Chase said he wanted to share a beer with him and Hall just chugs the whole thing down himself while Chase reminisces! That's real comedy that they don't make anymore.

Gotta have Chevy and Beverly in it, better still Randy Quaid and Christy Brinkley! And who will play Rusty? Will it be Michael Anthony Hall?
