The only problem with doing a remake to a "sh*tty" movie is that no one wants to see the original "sh*tty" movie to make a re-make of it lol. And no one will want to watch a remake of a sh*tty movie anyway. The funny part is, I can't even name a sh*tty movie that's old that I would want to see redone. I'm brainstorming and I'm getting nothin'. Then again I don't like older movies so maybe that's why I can't think of any ones I don't like cause I can only think of the ones I do like.

Btw if there's a time for remakes, it's now, not 5 years from now, not 10 years from now. It's the band wagon the filmmakers are on. I'm sure there will be some other type of band wagon years 5-10 years from now that will most likely be completely different. Truth be told I don't want to see any more f*cking zombie type of movies. No more movies about some disease that turns people into zombies or vampires. That's an old horse already.

King Kong was big no matter what you say man. I don't give a sh*t if some executive somewhere is getting $50 million dollars instead of $100 million dollars. $50 million is a lot of f*cking money. I'm pretty sure they made King Kong because it was A GOOD IDEA to remake a legendary old film with a new take on it. I would love to see a 10,000 Leagues Under the Sea become a remake. Think of that old crappy graphics movie lol...yeah imagine what we could do to it nowadays. A lot of people don't watch old movies. For example, I can't watch most things before the 80s. There was a few from my childhood but that's it and they were the Bill & Ted movies, Howard the Duck, Batman, & Ghostbusters movies. I can't watch sh*tty looking movies, I just can't. I like good looking movies with at least decent graphics. All those old Jason and Freddy movies are graphically sh*t. No joke. I like Jason better than Freddy but I couldn't watch a full one of these guys' older movies again.

The Invasion is a remake of The Invasion of the Bodysnatchers. I watched it, it was really good. Just like King Kong & Gone in 60 Seconds. I think the new Halloween is just fine, I'd rather watch a newer version of Halloween then resort to watching the horribly audio recording in the old one. I have taste man, if a movie is good then it's good ya know? I'm not saying that older movies suck I'm just saying I want a better looking movie for my generation to actually understand. Freddy and Jason's legacies will be lost in 10 years if no one revives those franchises. There's not a lot of movies I can say I don't like. I think all those Step Up type of movies are stupid and well, they are lol.

P.S. look at the new version of the Joker in The Dark Knight trailer...does that movie (remake of the the orginal Joker/Batman) seem stupid to you after you watch that trailer? No, it doesn't. It looks bad ass. Hence why it's the most talked about movie on the internet and #1 in the Most Requested Upcoming Films thing. Companies need to revive certain franchises because they are due. What they should make besides my idea for 10,000 Leagues is a completely different take on Wizard of Oz. Not the tv one which I a commercial for at Walmart on their tvs by accident (which pissed me off cause I've been wanting a real remake of that movie for the longest time) and what I didn't want is it to be on tv...cause tv movies suck. They are ghetto through and through. Anyway, I want Wizard of Oz to be dark. Like scary dark. Psyhcopathic, gives-you-the-creeps type of version. Hell, I'd even go for that same kind of idea with Alice in Wonderland. With the Mad Hatter actually completely crazy and freaky :) ooo the ideas I have... haha

P.P.S. Micheal Bay kicks ass. Transformers was the best of 2007 hands down. The Island was just amazing. 2 words...Sean Bean lol. And then there was the classic and still is the best disaster movie to date... mother f*ckin' Armageddon which destroys most movies still if you think about it. You can watch this movie 100 times and it never gets old. Long live Micheal Bay movies!

    Bad Boys (1995)
    The Rock (1996)
    Armageddon (1998)
    Pearl Harbor (2001)
    Bad Boys II (2003)
    The Island (2005)
    Transformers (2007
You mean to tell me those movies sucked? ok we have ssome real problems if you thought the island sucked, granted maybe his story lines arent as spellbinding as gis action scenes but you cant say just cause his attatched to the project its going to suck, we will just have 2 see.

I agree with Cell that Hollywood should start re-making sh*tty movies. I don't know what to think of this. Could be good, could be crap, but it's definitely going to be interesting to see what happens.

My god, how many sh*tty horror movie remakes are we going to have to live thru? Will it ever end??? Besides, anything with Michael Bay's name attached to it is going to be a total piece of crap. That's just a fact.

As for "Friday the 13th" Victor Miller who wrote the script never wanted any sequels!! In several books and doc*mentries Miller has stated he was unhappy about the filmmakers' decision to make Jason Voorhees the killer in the sequels. "Jason was dead from the very beginning. He was a victim, not a villain."!

I just heard from a friend that New Line's upper management, including co-founder and president Bob Shaye, contracts expire this year. Their contracts are not being renewed (at least that is the buzz going around Los Angeles) so New Line will be getting a new team (possibly Terry Semel).

Will the remake of "Nightmare" be on the new team's slate of films or will it be tossed?

    4 years agoby @2movieguysFlag

  14. O0cynix0o

I wouldn't call Friday The 13th, anything but sh*t. As for Nightmare the jury is still out on that one. Don't get me wrong I watched all the Friday movies....but a dead guy that doesn't die??? And the Halloween movie was good Remake. I liked the ending a lot better then the original. There is no getting up after that. You shouldn't flame people for stating your opinion.

This doesn't surprise me since Hellraiser & Friday the 13th are getting new movies, and Rob Zombies released Halloween. Don't be shocked if they try to bring back Child's Play or Candyman.
I'm kind of excited to see where they go with a new franchise.

WOW "Chad_Vital" ayou should research before "YOU" type!!! For example: "The Invasion" bombed, "The Invasion" was not a success either critically or financially.

As for the Re-Make of "King Kong":
With a take of $9.7 million box office on its opening day, and an opening weekend of $50.1 million, "King Kong" "FAILED" to live up to its pre-release hype, and did not meet expectations of Universal Studios executives. Some media outlets even considered the film to be a flop after its weak opening weekend, as at that point it wasn't on pace to make back its $207 million budget. Its opening weekend of $50.1 million, while good for most movies, fell short of the inflated expectations caused by the movie's enormous budget and marketing campaign.

    "Gone in 60 Seconds" Piss-Poor Re-Make:
Though the movie earned a $242 million worldwide box-office gross, after overhead, it lost roughly $90 million after all expenses, including the $103.3 million it cost to make the movie!

    Should I keep going "Chad_Vital"??

JUST 3 EXAMPLES THAT RE-MAKES DON'T WORK!!!! THIS INFO IS ALL OVER THE WEB!

    Some Successfull Re-Makes:

"The Departed" was a damn good film! I love Martin Scorsese! For your info, Yes it is an American remake of the 2002 Hong Kong crime thriller "Infernal Affairs"! But how many peopole really saw the Hong Kong film??

I did like Rob Zombie's orginial films...I just didn't like his Re-Make of "Halloween". A lot of people & hard-core "Halloween" fans didn't like his Re-Make!!

i think its a good idea. it has been a while since the last Freddie movie was made (not counting freddie versus Jason) I think they will do a great job. And i agree with you Chad_Vital. Is Celloid Dreams retarded or something? First, "hasn't Hollywood learned already that Re-Makes/Re-Boots don't work". Umm...well lets see... King Kong was successful, Halloween was successful (DVD wise), Dawn of the Dead was and is still the most realistic and well made remake of any zombie film. War of the Worlds was a remake and it was successful. 3:10 to Yuma, Amittyville Horror, Bad News Bears, Chronicles of Narnia: (Lion, Witch, Wardrobe), The Departed, The Eye (looks good), Gone in 60 Seconds, How the Grinch Stole Christmas, The Invasion, The Italian Job, The Longest Yard, The Mummy, Ocean's 11, & Texas Chainsaw Massacre were all successful and guess what else....all remakes...wow imagine that. Like I said, you're an idiot, think before you type. Second, it's apparant you have no clue about movies and/or have any taste in them... Rob Zombie's own movies (House and Devil's Rejects) were original and definitely in their own world. If you think HE sucks, then wow I suggest maybe you shouldn't own a television anymore since creative people are now sh*tty filmmakers? Yeah...pwned.
