Based on the long-running Marvel comic book series, Iron Man tells the story of Tony Stark, the enigmatic heir to the Stark Enterprises fortune. A driven inventor and executive who seems to have it all, Tony is haunted by his dark side. Though he commands his empire by day, by night he secretly becomes Iron Man, the living embodiment of decades of defense spending and innovation. The film opens May 2nd, 2008.
Iron Man was released May 2nd, 2008 and stars Robert Downey Jr., Terrence Howard, Jeff Bridges, Gwyneth Paltrow, Leslie Bibb, Shaun Toub, Faran Tahir, Clark Gregg. The film is directed by Jon Favreau.

can't wait. at first i thought this would be a lame movie for marvel to start the year out for the incredible hulk. i was wrong. it's startin to look better. this and hulk... GO TERRACE HOWARD!

A bit of a backgorund on "Iron Man":
Iron Man's premiere was a collaboration among editor and story-plotter Lee, scripter Lieber, story-artist Heck, who would illustrate most of the early Iron Man tales. Heck created the look of characters including protagonist Tony Stark and his secretary, Pepper Potts. Lee based Stark's personality on Howard Hughes, explaining, "Howard Hughes was one of the most colorful men of our time. He was an inventor, an adventurer, a multi-millionaire, a ladies man and finally a nutcase.
Soo based on this idea, you know Robert Downey Jr is going to rock this role to it's core!!!!

why arent you excited about this movie? It is good. Batman Begins wasnt neccesarily fun, it was marvelous. Neither were the first two Spider-man's and X-Men's. They were good movies. They made the thirds fun as you would say and we hated them. This is going to be a good movie. just give it a chance. Everything appears to be following the comics very well.

all i can say is i think marvel went back to what works for them, and i see this being right up there with x-men one&two and the first 2 spider-man movies,plus its got a great cast and i have to be honest t.howard as a possible war machine? and samuel jacskon as nick fury! this movie WILL be GREAT!
