New Halo: The Fall of Reach Concept Art
Some interesting news has surfaced revolving yet another movie version of the video game Halo. While Latino Review is reporting that the version with director Neill Blomkamp and screenwriter Alex Garland is still dead, they're also reporting that screenwriter Stuart Beattie (Collateral, upcoming G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra) has written a new script revolving around the novel Halo: The Fall of Reach.
That book, written in 2001 by Eric Nylund, serves as a prequel to the first video game. Beattie's script has been making the rounds around town and conceptual artist Kasra Farahani has been hired for a presentation of concept art for Microsoft execs. The site has the first look at one of these images and you can click the image below to enlarge.

We'll be sure to keep you posted on any developments revolving around this interesting project.
Halo is in development .

The trailer is befor District 9 trust me. They advertise D-9 in stores like game stop, why would they do this unless they wanted gamers to see their movie?

i'm sure there's no real concept art yet
but it might take them longer for a Halo movie
i mean alot of deals were cut and lost for it

as soon as they release a trailer for Halo (if they ever do) the hype will go through the roof!! as was with Transformers, people were doing nothing but giving sh*t on the net about Bay and that he would destroy it. but as soon as he released a few pic's and teaser's, everybody had to eat their words.
the same will happen here....

So Halo IS being worked on.. They will have to work alot on getting the Halo hype back up. Since Halo 3's faliure to deliver like the others did, I think it's gonna be a problem getting the audience hooked again. Besides it has to compete with other epics like Gears, Bioshock and Transformers. The Neill Blomkamp project seemed more interesting than this though.

....NICE one Rad....lmao!
This game is far to overrated, and to be honest I didn't like it. This movie is definitely not on my must see list.

lol Phat. And i think bioshock will have more heart to it. Sure, it's violent, but it has a deep story to it, which is why i liked it. It won't make as much money as halo(which won't be #1 of all time), but if done right, it will have critics shaking more than michael j. fox off his meds...or on them
(Travis Clark would like to take the time to apologize to neone offended by the above statement towards mr. fox. He is in no way liable for the comments made by Mr. Visionary, and is a fan of Fox's work. Thank you)

this movie wouldn't even come close to the number one spot... it's an action movie people.. TDK isnt even in the same category as Titanic.. that movie made its money based on the fact that guys could try and get some ass by taking girls to see it, different girl every week. People in '97 were some horny bastards.

This would need a bigger budget than Transformers lol. I'm not even kidding. I hated Halo 3 but Halo 1-2 were awesome (at that time). I mean I can't knock it we have all played it so yeah. I'm curious to see how well it do against Bioshock & Gears of War though. Yeah it's name is huge but that's about it. I know so many people who hate Halo now because of the 3rd game. But the movie will do well when released but will it be better than those two other better plotted games?

Oh, I was wrong about what scene this is. Someone earlier was correct when they said it was boarding a Covenant ship. My Bad.

I agree with The Visionary: WATCHMAN the movie will make good money but no where near number 1 movie of all time.

Even though this concept art looks weak to many of you - it actually makes me a little hopeful. This is a really cool scene in the book - but one that you would expect to be pulled out of the movie. If they can keep the "Halo Moments"; like 25 Spartans jumping out of a burning dropship in high orbit, landing like meteors without parachutes, then this will definitely be a movie worth watching. I mean, the armor is still Mjolnir armor, and everything looks try-to-book/game. I hope that Microsoft sponsors it and a producer pics it up.

The Narrator: The Better Man
The novels wee soooo gooodd. Seriously, would love to see ghost of onyx made after Halo.
The director I see doing this is Ridley Scott, Peter Jackson, or as Travis said in another blog, Michael Bay.

Actually, Vissionary Watchman, it probably would be one of the highest grossing movies of all time. Before GTA IV, Halo 3 was the number one multimedia release ever - including movies and books. I, as a Halo fan, would probably watch the movie no less than four times in the theater. It will also be very heavily advertised and will have a good plot in and of itself. As long as it looks appealing (which should not be very hard) it will pull in many different audiences. More than just gamers would be interested in this movie - and even were it just gamers, it would still pull a large profit. Profit is all it takes to greenlight.

You are right Watchman but then word would spread about the Halo movie (the movie will not be #1 of all time)and fanboys would go crazy for the movie. I am not a fanboy of the game.

No, it won't. Halo's fanbase lies directly with gamers, while films like titanic and tdk appeal to a large group of audiences. People who aren't gamers will see it for the entertainment purposes, but the general audience will be fanboys. It will be a box office smash, no doubt, but it will not be the #1 movie of all time. I know ur prolly saying that out of fanboy excitement, but i still had to respond ;)
