Looks very scary! Can't wait to see what happens in H2! I'm glad Rob Zombie changed his mind about doing a 2nd Halloween, I'm glad its gonna continue cause I doubted Laurie killed Michael at the end of the first movie!

VIS, look at my page, and compare the two. First one only said "2009." This one gives the exact date. Also, in the first one, you see slightly less of his head, and it's angled differently. It's the subtleties that we must account for after all. LMFAO!

Err
i was just talking about this with my brother, and even though zombie proclaimed that there would not be a sequel when the first one came out, he explained that if the sequel was going to be made one way or the other that zombie said f*ck it it may as well be him to direct it, which is better than letting someone else f*ck up his "vision".
...not uh... you know, not that that relates to anything anyone else was talking about, but it was on my mind so i said it.

meh.
and, Shinjiikari1984, What the f*ck do you mean by "real"? Myers got the f*ck shot out of him in the first one. If this were a realistic franchise, he'd be dead as burnt sh*t. Which he is, as was that movie.

I for one really did enjoy the remake to the original Halloween movie. Rob Zombie took time to create depth within the material. What people fail to realize about the original John Carpenter version as well as many of the old school horror flicks, they were just winging it. There was a time that horror movies didn't have to make sense. When I look back on the so called classics I often question what it was about them that captivated me. In the remake, it could have easily been just another hack and slash film with no substance. Michael Myers didn't really gain any depth until later in the series, but you didn't really understand him in the original telling. With the audience of today, people like to be provoked into thought, into feeling something one way or another. We no longer fall for the cheap scare. I don't really have much of a problem with the reboots as of late for they fill in many plot holes and give the stories more perspective. We just don't like to see our classics tarnished. In my opinion though, Zombie's stood alone recreating the mythology with aspects heavily borrowed from the original. It didn't feel stupid...You weren't insulted with the victims that in the original if they weren't caught off guard they were slow walked to death. Michael Myers became more psychological...There was a sense of empathy you could feel for him though he was on the wrong side of the knife. H2, it is yet to be determined what direction it will go in sense the original remake was not intended to have a sequel. Still I trust Zombie to do it a sense of justice.
For many of the reasons I've mentioned earlier, I heavily anticipate the release of, Friday the 13th as well. It appears that Jason has been given more dimension than just a retarded zombie attacking anyone who ventures onto the territory of, Chrystal Lake. Our movies offer more than cheap thrills or stop and go action like those of old. It just becomes hard to see your favorite boogieman exposed for what it really was when a retelling sheds so much more light over the icons we've already accepted. Of course the monsters still operate on the same basic principles, but there is not one person that has seen something and haven't had the thought, "I could have done that differently." So, with that said, I try to keep an open mind.

As someone before me has pointed out (I'm sorry whoever said this, you'll just have to remind me so I know for future comments/references), they didn't give the mindless, soulless killer a soul. They merely showed that even as a child had no soul. So I VERY MUCH enjoyed the first remake.
JR, if you'd actually pay attention to the posters, you will notice that they ARE different. You see more of the face on this one, and it's turned in a different direction. Observe before commenting!

Dimension may have just released it, but it's been on Rob Zombie's MySpace for about a month now.
As for the 1st movie, I didn't think it was bad. I'm a fan of the original, but I did like how Zombie introduced more depth to the childhood.

I loved the first one and Wayne Toth's(hope the name is right)mask sculpt was very well done as does this one seems to be. I know some of you dont like it,but I am excited for it. My only complaint is that since October 30th is on a Friday this year, that would have been the day I would have chosen to realease it.
