Well I will admit that this one does look better than the first and is alot better visually thats for damn sure, you can tell just from this newest trailer alone. Tim Story is like Sam Raimi in that respect. However, Sam Raimi is (in my opinion) a much better overall director than Tim and you cant even compare Spiderman to Fantastic Four 1, but they both love to do certain things that really drag there films down. First they both have equally cheesy dialogue (good god, just when I thought Spiderman's dialogue was terrible along came Fantastic Four). Second, both of their movies have scenes that are meant to be funny but just come across as lame humor and are most times sort of annoying (Like the scene in this trailer where The Thing touches Johnny and they reverse powers, then johnny looks in the mirror and says "oh my god, Come on", to me thats lame). Almost like they are trying too hard to be funny. They are not the only ones though, its like most of the directors out there doing comic book adaptations have this thought in there head that these films all have to have a certain cheesy, low contrast look and feel about them (Hulk, Daredevil, Electra, Fantastic Four). Well I say they work on that because look at Batman begins. Its darker, its more realistic, its more natural looking and the dialogue is perfect in everyway. Its downright amazing. Look at the X-Men movies, perfect (up until the third film). But rather than complain about it I always try to look at the positive side of it. Hopefully Tim shuts me up by releasing one kick ass film. We can only hope.
