Doesn't matter. Joker's had the official nickname of "The Clown Prince" appearing on comic book covers a helluva lot longer than "Joker2010" has even had that myspace name.

Same with a woman I used know that has the email address of "spider-woman," which has been around since the '80s, so that name technically isn't copyrighted either. A

nd yes, I've seen his myspace page, and we're now friends on that site.

"The Clown Prince." That woulda been a great title for this movie considering how much press and popularity Joker's getting.

Plus, he's being advertised like the main character in the movie, and sure, since this ain't an origin story, then they won't spend as much time on Batman as they will on Joker & Harvey Dent. Although, as I've said before, considering the amount of scenes that Joker's depicted appearing in in the trailer, then he may not be a central character at all, and this hype could end up being like the hype on Darth Maul for Episode I which had a less than pleasing role for the guy that was advertised like he was the main villain in the prequel trilogy. The same could be of Joker, cuz let's look back at the sequences he's depicted in:

    1) the bank robbery
    2) the burn pile of cash
    3) the party
    4) the jail cell
    5) the interrogation room
    6) the police squad car
    7) the hospital
    8) the basement of mobsters
    9) the truck chase
    10) the Batpod standoff

Now I know that sounds like a lot, but 9&10 go together as proven by the truck crash ending said chase and leading into the standoff. #s 4/5/&6 all take place in that order and time frame. #s 1&8 have to happen in the beginning since he's gotta pitch his plan to the mobsters BEFORE the whole film takes off. #2 can happen at anytime. #3 comes before Joker's arrest (based on how ticked off Batman is with him when he's only robbed a bank, so throwing Rachel out a window would certainly piss him off. Plus he reveals his plan IN the interrogation room, meaning that #7 happens sometime after his escape).

Now when you consider the order of events, and picture them being intertwined with Batman & Harvey Dent's story-line in a 150 minute movie no less, then this can mean a few things:

    1) Joker is a foreboding presence w/out a bunch of scenes (as exploding buildings at random are plenty terrifying to convince people that he's a foreboding presence).

    2) The sequences we've been shown are only just under the tip of the iceberg in regards to how large his role really is.

Or 3) He's the lead villain, and is the focus of the story, but doesn't require a bunch of scenes to get that point across (like Henri Ducard in "Begins").

But in the end, this film was not named "The Clown Prince." It was named "The Dark Knight." Which as I said before implies that Batman WILL cross the line from hero to vigilante to stop Joker and the mobsters. And that can account for the reasons I've given about the role of Joker (minimum or not) in this film.

It wasn't sarcasm. I was serious. Okay, good, "The Batman" could work.

    4 years agoby @insertusernamehereFlag

  20. Solar XI

I dont know if that was sarcasm but that could work, because thats what some of the villains refer him as, The Batman

  21. T.Clark

"The Batman"? Just thinkin out loud.

Maybe there doesn't have to be a third batman movie. Since everyone is so conflicted over what villains could be in the movie, why not just make an "Arkham Asylum" movie?

  22. slysnide

"Batman: War On Crime" sounds kinda off and underachieving. Like: "Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins" sounds like one of those bad movies that they couldn't make up for in the sequences, but instead tried to make up for it in the title. Or it also sounds like the title of a mini-movie for the animated series, but seeing as "TDK" is about how his war on crime has been SO SUCCESSFUL that Joker has gotta come around and f*ck it up then titling "War On Crime" as the 3rd Batman movie would be repetitive. Plus, caped crusader doesn't sound THAT bitchy. It is after all the name of some of the better Batman comics out there.

    4 years agoby @slysnideFlag

  23. Solar XI

I see what you are saying, but the war on crime part sounds too obvious. the title would have to make people think. alot of people thought Batman Begins was another sequel no one considered the fact it was reboot.

    4 years agoby @solarxiFlag

  24. T.Clark

Batman: war on crime should still be the title. It establishes that he's kickin ass and takin names, and that he's grown into being batman. What the hell else r they gonna use? Batman's already taken and it sounds like a title for a first movie, the caped crusader makes him sound like a bitch, and batman 3 just doesn't sound right. It's not like spider-man where u can just add a number at the end and call it good. It has be inventive...lik BATMAN: WAR ON CRIME.

To go along with your suggestions of third titles how about "BATMAN". That way we know he has established himself and commited himself to fighting the war on crime.

I dont appreciate sarcasm okay besides your written wasn't very good. Maybe if you elaborated a little more it would be good. But like I said I don't appreciate sarcasm. No need for it. Just create a good trailer...
