New District 9 Teaser Trailer Arrives

Apple has revealed the first teaser trailer for the upcoming film District 9, which is set for release on August 14. Click below to get your first look at this new thriller.

District 9 depicts a fictional world where extraterrestrials have become refugees in South Africa.

District 9 was released August 14th, 2009 and stars Sharlto Copley, Jason Cope, Nathalie Boltt, Sylvaine Strike, Elizabeth Mkandawie, John Sumner, William Allen Young, Greg Melvill-Smith. The film is directed by Neill Blomkamp.

    Halo was confirmed to be dropped by both Universal Pictures & 20th Century Fox due to joint financial issues, rumours arose that Warner picked it up but they have denied the statement.
    The subsidary rights for the film adaptation are currently held by Peter Jackson's WETA Digital, whom stated that Blomkamp was definately off the project after wasting so much production money on a promotional advertising campaign.
    But he did state that a Halo movie is definately far from a long way off but definately not out of the picture by Weta Digital.

    It has been recently confirmed that the official film adaptation of the game will be and is currently being made exclusively for the XBOX 360 console or the next Xbox console.
    It's under the current working title as 'The untitled Peter Jackson Halo Project.' Rumours state that the game will be titled 'Peter Jackson's Halo.'

    Your welcome, Fallen, it's an easy mistake, and i agree on the latter part of your statement.

    Incmob, i'd like to know the source of your info about this being confirmed as a prequel for Halo adaptation.
    When Blomkamp stated himself the project is dead.

    Also there is rumours noting that the film maybe helmed by its original proposed director, whom was declared by Jackson & Microsoft themself but unfortunately the original proposed director turned down Halo to make Hellboy 2 & The Hobbit.
    I tmay seem that Del Toro may be placed back in the directing chair for Halo, especially now with the work he is doing for Jackson on The Hobbit.

    i think the film looks interesting, especially with all the big effects films that have saturated the market, it is nice to see a film that is not trying to just show off and show all the best parts of the film... this is truly a teaser, which makes me curious for the film itself... another interesting thing... does anyone know what this means...

    The film is confirmed to be a disguise for the prequel of the Halo Movie set for release in 2011

    as was stated on wikipedia? as J.A stated, Blomkamp was involved with jackson on the halo film, and both are involved with this?? but not sure of the source material for the statement to serve any truth.

    Benji83, I am not being negative and if you visited this site more often you would realize I am not a negative person. Everyone can have their own opinion and based on this trailer, I am not impressed. It may end up being a great movie but at this point it looks like a direct-to-DVD film to me.

    Fallen your thinking of "Neil Marshall," whom directed The Descent, Doomsday & Dog Soldiers. His new film Centaurion is currently in production, they are filming in the same place as Ridley Scott's Robin Hood.

    This is Neil Blomkamp, Halo was meant to be Blomkamp's directional debut, but after that fell through the roof with the whole financial issues, it was dropped and Neil opened up this project.

    LOL @ Newkill's statement.

    Neil Blomkamp is an actual commercial director, this is his directional debut on feature films.
    I'm actually surprised, they were going to let him direct Halo.

    Blomkamp's most popular advert is the peugeot or renualt advert where its a transformer skating on ice and it transforms into a car, your definatel;y be able to find it on youtube, but then again you;ve probably seen it.

    And yeah Dark Knight, Neil Blomkamp did this as a short film first during the advertising of the Halo Film campaign, and i guess now his expanded it into a proper film.
