Two-time Academy Award nominee® Ethan Hawke plays Ed, a researcher in the year 2017, in which an unknown plague has transformed the world's population into vampires. As the human population nears extinction, vampires must capture and farm every remaining human, or find a blood substitute before time runs out. Daybreakers stars Ethan Hawke, Sam Neill, Willem Dafoe, Claudia Karvan, Christopher Kirby, Michael Dorman and Vince Colosimo. It will come to theaters January 8, 2010 from Lionsgate.
Daybreakers was released January 8th, 2010 and stars Harriet Minto-Day, Jay Laga'aia, Damien Garvey, Sahaj Dumpleton, Allan Todd, Gabriella Di Labio, Ben Siemer, Peter Welman. The film is directed by Michael Spierig, Peter Spierig.

And how is this like I Am Legend? This 2 minute trailer is better than the entire I Am Legend movie lol. If you're trying to say it's like IAL because of a cure thing, wow. It's about vampires not unknown creature thingies that are in IAL. It looks nothing like IAL, like at all. It has more Blade-ish elements in it than IAL easy. Epecially the whole blood packs storage parts. I Am Legend... lol. If you wanted to randomly compare it to something, you could have just as easily yelled out Queen of the Damned as well since it has vampires lol. I The things you guys say make me laugh.

The Narrator: The Better Man
I like the poster except for the fact that they all look like the same guy. The trailer looks awesome. I look forward to this. And yes studios are cashing in on the Twilight vampire sensation. But this looks miles and miles visually better than Twilight. Story is intriguing. But I would say the cast is the best thing. Sam Neil, Ethan HAwk and Dafoe. Killer.

Cant say I am surprised. What with all the Twilight hype, every studio is cashing in on EVERY vampire property they can get their hands on. It seems redundant to agree with Mess down there but the source material is indeed a bit too similar to I Am Legend for my tastes. But even though this new generation of Vampire flicks seems overdone, a lot of them are quite entertaining.
I'm opened minded to it, just don't claim 100% it's original.
