Can't agree with you more, Comrade.
The Abyss is his best work so far, in my opinion.

all though this movie doesn't look that great i'm looking to be entertain while watching it james cameron hasn't disappointed me so far even if most of us on movie web think this movie is sh*tty most people probably will love it like i loved district 9 but the average person looks at me like i'm crazy when i say it was 1 of the best films i've seen in a long time

Those people whose expectations were "dramatically deteriorated" (thanks for speaking for everyone following this by the way, because apparently we're too dumb to do so for ourselves) had sh*tty expectations. Look at James Cameron's past work. "Aliens" is not so much incredible as it is incredibly fun. "Titanic" is a throwback to old Hollywood epics, but it has a cheesy story without much depth (no pun intended). Cameron does sound and fury really well, but even T2, likely the second heaviest and most readily recognized of his films, has very little meat outside of being a fun movie. His films aren't meant to be high-minded sci-fi, they're meant to be explorations of the medium, usually on a gaudy and visually heavy scale, with decent acting but with mediocre stories. He knows what he's good at, and he's stuck to it, and I respect him for it.
The major exception here is "The Abyss" which has a fairly consequential plot, but even there it's clear that Cameron cares more about visual grandeur than dramatic

Ditto on that theory, Fallen.
I definately don't see this living up to the hype, the theatrical trailer they show doesn't do it any justice and doesn't intrigue people to see it.
And well the people that have followed and been awaiting Avatar, their expectations were dramatically deteoriated when they saw that trailer.

Dude District 9 was amazing. But I know what you mean about this film, I really hope it doesn't blow.

The Narrator: The Better Man
The movie will not live up to the hype because the hype is probably misplaced. Like District 9 was. Everyone said it wouldn't live up to the hype and it didn't because the hype was stored/directed in the wrong direction. The "hype" was it would be a action/sci-fi epic with great story. It turned out to be a story and moral epic with a sh*tload of action and in that order. Make sense? And I think the same thing will happen here. It will be great, but will not be what we were expecting (especially with the long wait, everyone has their own expectations) and therefore some will be dissapointed. I am keeping an open mind and can't wait for the movie and the game looks fun too.

This movie may not be mind-blowing, but it will probably be up there with JC's better work.
