@bluedevil your done with me? you never even really started with me?! There was way to many cuts to black! that effect can look great if it done more rapidly. a couple of shots where under exposed and few others where not to well exposed. the type at the end was horrible! just cause they did it in the 80's doesn't make it right to do it now, you should never put linear and angled type together! aside from all that the effects where done well, make up was great and well placed music and some shots where very well composed. but it seemed like a lacking nightmare.
i also have very high standards for film, and if the movie sucks ill be the first to admit it. i can tell right now you that if it is good you will say its bad just cause you hate being wrong which is prob why you "done with me" cause i make good points a raped everyone in my last debate.

@Hotprop based on all of your previous posts that I've read I'm convinced nothing I say will change your mind. I don't care if you like this new interpretation, that's fine. have fun and Enjoy.
I wish I could lower my standards and enjoy it too but that's not gonna happen.
And that fanmade trailer was badass simply for conceiving a Freddy that's constantly on fire. Like the Balrog but with a hat. It shows what could be done with the character to make him exciting and new while not completely throwing out everything that made him work so well the first time.
So now I'm convinced you just like pissing venom just to attract attention to yourself and that's fine. But I'm done with you.

I'm liking the stalking. The anticipaton of the kill. I really like how Freddy enjoys the chase just as much as the kill. @Todd89, this is one clip out of a full movie. He has some lines. I love the "Why are you screaming? I haven't even cut you yet." Line. And the "Oh my god" from a victim with Freddy's reply, "No god, just me!" He's going to have things to say but to give them all away in the trailer would be silly.

@bluedevil Totally agree! That fan made trailer is WAAAAAY better!

At least give the new Freddy something to say, it doesn't have to be funny nor campy at all.
All I want is for him to say something to taunt his victims, :I'm coming for you ;Running his razer blades down a chalk board.
Isn't that so hard.

Bluedevil i totally agree with you, the youtube clip with the fat guy looks way better then the movie coming out. I wanna see that one not Haley screwing up Freddy. I guess they wanted a midget to play Freddy.

The real problem here is that big Hollywood got their hands on the thing. Had a smaller, more independent company done it, it would probably be a lot scarier and more interesting.

I HATE THIS WITH EVERY FIBER OF MY BEING. This movie looks worse with every damn clip. This fanmade film is 100x better even with the overweight guy playing Freddy. Check it out http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jxPmOP1_HIY&feature=player_embedded

P.S. Nancy doesn't seem scared because she is probably delusional from lack of sleep, so she's probably thinking that she's scared but can't physically express that fear

@Clockworkcookie: it is a remake but the only characters retained from the original film is Freddy (of course) and Nancy. everyone else is original to this film, but they do make nods to the original characters; I.E. the girl in the bedroom scene that is sliced in the air

I don't understand why people say we shouldn't compare. That would be OK for a reboot, but isn't this a bloody remake? How can we NOT compare if they are using the exact same characters and plot?

I'm skeptical but that was a good scene and transition, but the grocery store could have been darker, and the girl scared of baby powder falling/him slicing the pipes was a bit off, but I can't for this, it should be better then the Friday the 13th Remake

I will agree it wasnt all that good, but stop dissing it. Wait till the film comes out then judge it by writing a review. Then you can write out all the ways it was bad but stop comparing it to Robert Englunds Freddy. This is a new film so its gonna be 100% different

Very well put Mieko. Btw not every remake has sucked. I am legend was a third remake and Batman Begins was sort of a whole reboot.

Oh yeah, just to finish a thought...The only reason that Freddy survived as long as he did is not because the following sequels were well made...It is because, Robert Shay and New Line Cinema owned rights to Freddy and it made money. The movies, every one of them were low budget. The ideas got thinner by the sequel. And Freddy became more comedic. I for one am not going to be afraid of my attacker after he's killed me with bad stand up. I appreciate a menacing approach. Freddy should be scary, not the Joker with razors for fingers.

No one should judge a movie before they have seen it. Since they have started shooting this film they have been saying that it is more serious so if you are waiting to see a goofy comedian slicing children then you have not done your research. Freddy is shown F'ing with the kids and talking to them in the trailer and everyone is going to judge from a one minute clip on the internet? Lets get serious. I am excited for it and I will post my opinion AFTER I have seen the movie. BTW remake means a film is being redone.

I've been reading these comments. Everyone entitled to an opinion, still, don't be blinded by the fact that this is not Robert Englund's Freddy. This incarnation is a fresh approach to a brilliant idea forged from the mind of Wes Craven. The other Freddy was a raw approach to something new, in 1985. An era where camp was acceptable. Now, the audience has changed. Believable, unbelievable, who cares, the point is that rlt9009 has the right idea...IT'S A REMAKE!!! No need to compare. Robert is Robert and Jackie is Jackie. Same character different approaches in style. I rather like that this is more like a ghost story than the previous ones. Freddy is a specter after all. I think this is going to be brilliant in its own right. Lets not let nostalgia cloud our opinions of change. Let's give this one a go shall we.
