It seems yet another Neil Gaiman work is getting the big screen treatment. According to Geeks of Doom, Neil Gaiman announced on NBC's The Today Show, that filmmaker Neil Jordan is writing and will direct an adaptation of Gaiman's The Graveyard Book.

Gaiman will produce the film and he said that, while he hopes for several prominent British actors for the film, the lead role of Nobody Owens, a boy who is raised by graveyard spirits, will likely be played by several actors, at various stages in his life.

The book just recently received the 2009 Newberry Medal, an award that is given out annually to the author who contributes the most to children's literature.

The Graveyard Book was released in 2011.
