NBC Cancels Heroes, Mercy and Trauma
It was said that the network was mulling over options for a shortened final season to give some closure to the remaining fans of the show, but it was ultimately decided that it wasn't worth it. However, Deadline Hollywood is reporting that NBC is, "working on a way to wrap up the show. That will be determined after the upfront." The site believes that could mean a possible two-hour or four-hour TV movie that will finalize the series. The network's upfront presentation is on Monday and we'll be sure to keep you posted on any further details on a Heroes TV movie.
Earlier today, The Live Feed also reported that NBC had canceled its two medical dramas - Trauma and Mercy. Both first-year shows had been struggling in ratings and Trauma had actually already been canceled once, until the network ordered more episodes to fill in for the 10 PM slot after the failed primetime experiment The Jay Leno Show came to an end.

Yay! stick a fork in it already. I'm tired of them showing the same comercial of that plump Asian dude screaming "Yeeeeeaaaaaaaaaah", like a little girl, after he stops the explosion from happening. And who cares about those other DOA shows anyway.

I'm not surprised its cancelled but I did still watch. I care enough that I want them to give it a proper ending.

I absolutely Agree with both of you! This past season was a little too much to look at; thats true. They put a couple more actors in the show and that took away from us seeing the other actors we like a lot. In other words, we saw our Favourite actors/actresses Less, They didn't have to have so many lines! After awhile, I was finding that I was waiting till their lines were over so I could finally get to see my favs act. Not to say that the 2 new actor/actress weren't good actors. They're certainly are Very Good at acting but just to add 2 more to the mix is too much to keep track of. We had to keep track of all of the regulars story-lines as it was.
I find there is lots to watch but NOT like Heroes and what is Terrible right now is 2 exact same shows are on but they are on 2 Different stations!! They are Not good shows at all. Boring. There is SO Much in Life that could be on, that is Good Quality that is Interesting!! They televise shows that They Want us to watch Not what WE Want to watch!
Hire someone that has Good Interesting and Original ideas! Theres Tons of People out of work and I'm not one of them But they have Really Good Ideas and it would be worth your while and Ours to hire them!! Why keep looking at the new shows that are being put on TV if the Stations keep cancelling THEM???!!

I agree @aceinthehole12 It was sad to see Heroes go where it went after that astonishing first season. The writers strike didn't help at all, for sure, Bryan Fuller leaving (and then coming back and then leaving) didn't help either, but, even for all the downsides, it isn't a terrible show overall. Just lost its way.

As someone who watched Heroes since day one I am sad that it's canceled but I'm still kinda glad ? Fourth season was just so brutal to watch especially when compared to the amazing first season. Also sad to see Trauma and Mercy go, both shows were pretty solid and the way Mercy ended last night with that cliffhanger it's going to be hard to see it go. But oh well I guess, CBS is still crankin out hit show after hit show...

First off, I'll start by saying that I am a fan of Heroes, but it was getting pretty ridiculous. You can't say that they didn't "give them chances" when they were on for four seasons. A lot of people thought it should've been canceled after the second season, which was by far the worst, but it just never quite rebounded the way most of us hoped.
There's no way another network would pick them up because 1) the show is incredibly expensive, 2) the ratings were horrible, for any night, let alone a Monday night show and 3) it's fully owned by NBC so they couldn't try to take it anywhere if they tried.
I am looking forward to seeing how they will wrap this up though. Hopefully it's a great goodbye.

Agreed. I cant believe they canceled Heroes. Even with ratings down - it had such a cult following. Sad. I would love to see another network pick them up but if they are just trying to "wrap it up" in a movie it seems unlikely.

and NBC wonders why they suck in ratings they keep canceling shows and and not really giving them chances maybe they should rethink things a bit more
