Fox remaking Mr. and Mrs. Smith so soon?
The site also reports that the new film will be titled Mr. and Mrs. Jones and will not feature the original film's stars Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. While the first film centered on a dull married couple who both lead double lives as assassins without either of them knowing their spouse's true profession, this film will revolve a younger couple who are set up as a fake husband and wife when they complete their agency training.
Akiva Goldsman is attached to produce the new remake. It was said that financial matters were at the heart of the remake, since the studio could revisit a popular title without the high-priced talent attached to the first film, going with younger, more cost-efficient stars.
Mr. and Mrs. Smith was released June 10th, 2005 and stars Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, Vince Vaughn, Adam Brody, Kerry Washington, Keith David, Chris Weitz, Rachael Huntley. The film is directed by Doug Liman.

Nothing should be re-booted/adapted for the rest of the decade. There should be some sort of law intact where a studio CANNOT reboot/adapt ANYTHING until 2020. And just see what kind of ORIGINAL content they can come up with.

If anything should get a reboot it should be Eragon. I think a lot of people enjoyed the story once it was out of the theater and on DVD. I think it would be a success. They would just need to make the armies larger and more like Lord of the Rings instead of small armies with soldiers who look out of shape.

There's no reason for this at all. The movie was a box-office success. Reboots are only needed if a franchise becomes stagnant and unprofitable.

SERIOUSLY? What is it with all the remakes first spiderman and now this. I don't see any point to remaking this film and if you read the summary it doesn't even look like a remake. What!? This is getting really ridiculous. You can't remake a movie that's only 5 years old, can you? Isn't that against the law in California? lol, whatever. I didn't see the first one, and I sure as hell won't see this new one. Seriously, when I saw this I had to check the date to make sure that it wasn't April 1st yet.
