MovieWeb Launches SuperheroFlix.com!
SuperheroFlix.com, a new web site created especially for fans of films featuring superheroes or arising from comics, makes its debut concurrent with the opening of the 2006 Comic-Con International, and will be constantly updated rom the event by its team of writers in attendance.
The site, SuperheroFlix.com, was created and launched by MovieWeb, Inc., the owner and operator of the popular MovieWeb.com online entertainment site. As a leading filmed entertainment source, MovieWeb provides vast access and coverage with writers in all major film markets and covering all major events.
Visitors to SuperheroFlix.com will enjoy the same exclusive news, interviews, reviews, feature columns, contests and giveaways that MovieWeb users have come to expect, as well as participation in forum discussions with other visitors and use of convenient RSS feeds to help them keep updated. In addition, SuperHeroFlix will provide users the ability to purchase tickets to local theaters and purchase the hottest DVDs at the best prices possible...coming in the 3rd Quarter of 2006. Later this year, the site will also announce its outstanding line-up of exclusive podcast shows and exclusive columns.
"Hollywood is releasing so many films focused on these characters and storylines," said Brian Balchack, managing editor of MovieWeb, "that we feel fans need and deserve a site, of the quality of our flagship MovieWeb site, that caters to them. SuperHeroFlix will continue MovieWeb's tradition of in-depth, comprehensive coverage, fantastic contests, great prices and services related to moviegoers, but with a very specific genre focus."
David Riess, MovieWeb's head of digital production added, "Fans of comics, superheroes and animation are among the most loyal and enthusiastic digital entertainment consumers. As a trusted source covering the space, we are devoted to that fanbase. Our close relationships with the studios, production companies, writers, directors and others in the Hollywood community provide us the access to deliver what these fans want and need."
