More Voice Actors Join Toy Story 3

In a video announcing that the Toy Story/Toy Story 2 3D double feature release in theaters now has been extended beyond the original two weeks, Toy Story 3 director Lee Unkrich also stated that Flight of the Conchords star Kristen Schaal will voice a new character in Toy Story 3, but the director wouldn't reveal details about the character.

Blake Clark will voice for Slinky, taking over for Jim Varney, who passed away in 2000.

Opening in theaters on June 18, 2010, Toy Story 3 features the voices of Tom Hanks, Tim Allen, Joan Cusack, Don Rickles, Wallace Shawn, Estelle Harris, John Ratzenberger, Ned Beatty, Michael Keaton, Timothy Dalton, Jeff Garlin, Bonnie Hunt, Whoopi Goldberg and John Morris.

Toy Story 3 was released June 18th, 2010 and stars Tom Hanks, Tim Allen, Joan Cusack, Ned Beatty, Don Rickles, Michael Keaton, Wallace Shawn, John Ratzenberger. The film is directed by Lee Unkrich.

    Okay, I understand your points. They are good ones and I'm not trying to upset you, I just think that TS2 didn't deserve to be discarded so harshly.

    And I can see UP being compared to About Schmidt, I admit. I liked Jack so much in that, that I bought it. But the parallels between those two movies are linked by only a few factors. The two planning taking a trip when they are old, the two men finding a new purpose in life (the boys that each meet in one way or the other), and their learning to move forward and accept the untimely card that life has dealt them.

    Aside from that, the stories differ greatly. Carl from UP loved Ellie fiercely, even if he was a bump on a log in contrast to Ellie's spontaneity and spunk. But Schmidt found that he and his wife had drifted apart chemistry-wise and dreaded the time that he would have to spend with Helen instead of looking forward to his trip, as Carl was. Schmidt did eventually realize how much he missed his wife, but it seemed to stem from an accepted sense of familiarity and loss of what he once had, and not that his love in life was no longer with him to cherish, as was the case with Carl. If you watch the extra features, Schmidt loathed the monotonous time that he had to spend with his wife, and friends, as displayed when they all took their regularly scheduled visit to their "favorite" restaurant. Carl continued his love for his wife, to his detriment and Schmidt tried to latch onto and rediscover a relationship with his daughter as a new source of life fulfillment.

    One story is fantastical and joyfully poignant and one is stark, bitter sweet and solidly grounded in reality.

    And I'm not saying that you focus just on Horror. If it sounded like that, then I apologize. I just meant in saying, "step away from the Horror a minute", as a jumping point for my statement. That's all. I respect your views, as I'm sure you understand mine as well. I'm out. See ya.

    It's funny how when someone tells you that they disliked something which you really loved, and as there response they base the fact on you not liking it on you not being able to understand something or it going over your head. Nothing went over my head. I understood the theory explained in the movie about toys being immortal and all that sh*t but I still disliked it. Saying that it went over my head for the reason why i didn't like it is such a poor way of doing things. I just loved the first Toy Story so much I just didn't think it was necessary to do a sequel to that, and I when i watched part 2 I was very disappointed and from then on stayed away from all other Pixar movies. If i was focused on horror, why the hell would i be in this article. It's an animated movie. Just because horror genre is my thing doesn't mean I disliked all other genres. Yeah, Pixar does have heart, but if you don't admit this then your a huge hypocrite. Most of Pixar movie rip off live action movies, for example Up, a Pixar movie, steals it's theme from About Schmidt, of course no one goes up in a balloon but your foolish if you disagree with the fact that Pixar is unoriginal. And you talk about Finding Nemo, well that movie is just a combination of every theme in all Pixar movies.

    Newkill, you must be joking. Toy Story 2 was just as good, if not better. Are you going to tell me, that the meaning of the story went over your head. It had a great story. Woody's wanting to be kept in a museum for all children to see him, was a metaphor for not wanting to die. It was Woody wanting to stay the hand of the toy Grim Reaper, especially after hearing Jessie's story of how her previous owner Emily, after years of making Jessie feel like she had somebody who loved her, took her to a donations drop off. Coupled with Sarah McLachlan's, "When She Loved Me", made it some sad s**t.

    Try to step away from the Horror for a minute. Every movie that Pixar has done, has heart, character development and damn good stories.

    Not like that lame assed "Fishtale" movie, which was just a Finding Nemo wanabee. Fishtale was a gimmicky piece of garbage, even if it did star Will Smith.

    Toy Story 2 was the last animated feature I saw and theaters and it was the biggest disappointment ever. It was a useless sequel and f*ck this one 2.

    I was wondering who was going to do Slinky, when they announced part 3, because I knew that Varney died from lung cancer. Hope Ben Clark sounds like the original "Slink".

    And just think, Varney used to do comercials as Ernest, telling kids never to smoke, when he smoked something like a carton of cigarettes a day. Damn shame. People never learn.
