  9. The Narrator: The Better Man

    Exactly what I mean @Kinetic.

And yeah, I remember some of us were talking about IM2 being up-converted, and many brought up when a superhero film would require 3D, and nearly everyone thought Spider-Man would be the most appropriate hero we could think of for 3D. And yeah, I am glad that they're filming in 3D for the film, over up-converting, which is definitely the only way to go 3D speaking. If they utilize effects like The Hobbit (also being shot with Red Cameras and in 3D, coming out that year) I am sure both films will turn out more than bearable and pleasing.

I can see why one wouldn't like the suit, but I just don't mind it. Hopefully we can agree on the trailer when it comes out. As for no J. Jonah Jameson and no Brant, I think it's cool. Pete's still in HS, so he doesn't necessarily need to get a freelance job there just yet, although the characters will be missed. besides they need as much time as possible to build the characters they have in the film, so we can authentically care for them. I'm sure we'll see Jameson, Brant, Robbie and guys in the next film. :)

ok, i get that... you are refering to the posers who watch the movie and claim to be experts on the subject, like all those idits who said Harry was going to become HobGoblin when Spider-Man 1 ended. And they try and talk about the comic having read only a couple of issues and don't know squat... ok, that i get...

Honestly, i prefer them to film in 3D rather than convert cause it'll just make it look all the more fake...

Though i have yet to see a recent 3D film... I do not think it really adds anything to the filmgoing experience... I liked hte webslinging in the first film, when he was first in costume, i was sitting right in front, and it was cool looking, i almost felt i was there, ionly hope that the 3D enhances that aspect of the film....
I may not like the costume, but, yes, i will see this in the cinema...
I just hope the storyline will be decent...

    Damn, i just realized....
No JJJ means no Betty Brant...
    Now im sad...
    lol

  11. The Narrator: The Better Man

Sh*t, you posted before I could re-post. Dang it. My bad man, not trying to make it seem like you're talking to yourself.

Anyways, I think not. The reason they are filming so early (and in 3D mind you, so it won't be up-converted) is so that they have as much post-pro time as needed, to fix and perfect the footage, which is a REALLY smart move on their part. Also, with Red Cameras doing all the work, it's more than possible for them to make the suit seem less distracting because Red, although digital (grrrr), still makes fantastic cameras with many options for lighting (look at The Social Network as an example). I think it'll do just fine, especially since the cinematographer did (500) Days of Summer with Webb as well, which was never distracting, but was definitely poppy and eye catching.

As for the arrogance of me stating some folks are not fans, let me rephrase. Those who oppose the idea of the film properly (at least more so than the previous trilogy) adapting the source material are misled and unconventional fans, whose reasoning I have yet to fully understand. If they logically dislike the suit (which is a different matter), then so be it, but don't bring lame excuses into it (again, comments were not pertaining to you or other mature opposer's, but the sheep who claim to be "fans").

  13. The Narrator: The Better Man

@Kinetic, the Ultimate Spidey costume is actually quite different from the ASM suit. It's seemingly thinner, and more animated ad exaggerative. Similar in looks to the original, no doubt, but the eyes are bigger and more animated, and at times his head is a lot more egg shaped/noticeable. In that sense the costume in the film is doing nicely. In terms of Red and Blue Patterns, I was referring to color shades versus color scheme, because Ultimate has a brighter, almost baby blue shade, while Amazing Spider-Man usually has a darker shade, and the character himself is usually bulkier. It's just obvious that they're drawing inspiration from the Ultimate timeline versus the Amazing timeline, or at least that's what sources say story wise. It just makes sense to do so, since Raimi did the twisted version of ASM, so they'll do the legitimate version of ASM with an Ultimate feel.

Also, if you follow the comics and have legitimate/mature reasons for disliking the costume, as I've already said, then you can go ahead and feel disappointed with the film, so long as you don't cry over it. Enough sheep already do that. Also, as you haven't addressed my other points such as how they're filming and what they're filming with, I take it you have no gripe with waiting for better actual screen shots, eh? Because that's definitely an option someone like you will probably do.

Again, read this comment carefully, so you don't get all defensive and offended when the previous comments (if you'd have read them closer) didn't necessarily pertain to you.

To address your first comment, those who are fans of the mythos behind Spidey would and should be jumping for joy (in reserve since we haven't seen much yet) for the direction they're going with the film: story and character wise. Who am I to say what fans should be doing and supporting? Jee, I don't know, I guess I just said why! If they're fans of the mytho's and canon storyline in the first place, why would they not be in support of the mythos crossing over successfully (for the most part) onto the screen for the first time. Doesn't make sense, does it? Sure it's a little arrogant of me to do so, but I'm being practical.

@Supes, definitely. I love that some directors still rely more on practicality than CGI, an prefer it. It's just so much richer and more extravagant, which was one of the missing points for me with Indy4 (since the previous series had great practical effects when possible). Personally, I'm wondering how they'll work the action pieces into this origin story. One thing about Raimi's Spider-Man1 was that it had few action sequences, and although cool, I never felt any sense of danger towards our character save for the final action scene (which was IMO pretty stinking awesome). I hope they do better this time around, and let things flow.

@Dave, sorry. I deleted and combined my comments to avoid taking up too much room. Thanks thou. :P

I'm all for better screen shots, and official video clips. I just think that the red/blue design is poorly done. that my opinion, i'm not forcing it on anyone else to hate the costume, i'm just giving my reasons. Oh, and Mark Bagley drew Amz and Ult, and they were very close in both colour and design...

I also don't like when some people say others are not true fans, as it seems that those who say it, give themselves a senceof import over oothers.

    Back to the costume:
I think once that we see this thing in the cinema, the costume will look much worse...
    hear me out...
right now, all we are getting are 2-D shots. This is being filmed in 3-D.
The Red/Blue/Silver will stand out ever so much more that it WILL become quite distracting while watching him fight/swing...
    At least, i believe so...

@ The Narrator--> 1. It's a reboot. So to solidify that fact, they are going to go with a completely different suit, one inspired by the Ultimate Universe's costume. I'm digging it pretty nicely, if not, then okay, wait for something else.

Exactly how is this ANYTHING like the Ultimate Spider-Man costume?
Ultimate is the exact same Red & Blue pattern as the regular Marvel Spider-Man!!!

In all reality, they (like me), don't give a rats ass what some people think about amateur-like photos of the suit, when it's a year and a half away from release. They're trying something new and practical with the suit, the cast, the direction, everything. People who really were and are fans of the comics would appreciate this, but I don't see that from many "fans". Fans of Raimi's films no doubt, but don't bring yourself into the comic book ring if you're gonna cry over spilt milk. I give props to those complaining or doubting the suit for mature and reasonable reasons. However, those talking about the most superficial things, remind me the the dudes that blatantly boycotted the Batman Begins reboot. - Who are you to say exactly who is and is not a fan?

    1. It's a reboot. So to solidify that fact, they are going to go with a completely different suit, one inspired by the Ultimate Universe's costume. I'm digging it pretty nicely, if not, then okay, wait for something else.

    2. Red bleeds on screen. Which is why the blue is meshed in quite a bit now. Raimi's Spiderman costume (When it wasn't pure cgi) was a darker tone of red than this costume, so like I said, differences are being made. Jut like how the blue was added to Optimus Prime in Transformers because it was easier to shoot. It's practical and effective.

    3. They're using Red Digital Cameras to film with, so they probably built the suit having the above reasons in mind for shooting, simple to make it look better in the FINISHED PRODUCT.

In all reality, they (like me), don't give a rats ass what some people think about amateur-like photos of the suit, when it's a year and a half away from release. @Supes Spiderman is one of the most beloved super heros of all time. Even if this movie gets bad word of mouth, the built in fanbase alone is probably going to make it at least financially successful. That doesnt mean it will be a great movie but i believe the audience in there for this.
