More Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End Blu-ray Glitches Reported
In a story from DVD Town, there are some playback problems with the Blu-Ray version of Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End. It seems that some Samsung players and the PS3 are the main players affected.
There is also a typo on the back of this Blu-Ray packaging. It says that the disc is a 1080i transfer, but it really is in 1080p video.
If you are having issues with your Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End disc, you can call Disney's tech support number at 1-800-723-4763.
We also reported recently on some Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl playback issues here dealing with framing issues. If you have an affected DVD you can now call the above number to exchange the disc for a corrected one.

I put "Source: Digital Bits" didn't I? Since it is their job at that site I would say yes they did get off the phone with the technical staffer at Disney. I also put it in quotation marks to make it easier for you guys.
I also love the fact that you guys keep chiming back in to insult me. Glad you guys love me so much ;).

What?
Thanks for the update KAYA? That's great. Do you even have a job?
You just got off the phone with a technical staffer at disney, huh? Well, I just got off the phone with your therapist. He said, "he wants you to stop jerking off to 'the little mermaid' and move out of your parents basement!"

Just to get back on topic of the article. Here is an update regarding these glitches.
Source: Digital Bits.
" I just got off the phone with a technical staffer at Disney regarding the Pirates 3 Blu-ray issue. As I mentioned earlier, the problem of the disc freezing up after the trailers (and before menus load) is only happening for small percentage of users and it's not happening consistently, so Disney is having a hard time replicating the problem. The belief is that it might be related to the interaction between the player and the display device people are using. So Disney is asking anyone who is having a playback problem with the disc to call their Customer Service number (1-800-723-4763) and be sure to tell them not only the brand and model of player you're using, but also the brand and model of your display. They're working hard to get to the bottom of this, and the more information people can provide them, the faster they can resolve the issue for everyone. We'll keep you up to date."

LOL @ Mass Effect and Gears Of War being Lame-o. Someone must suck at them.
Quick question to all you fanbois. Why must you defend your purchases? Whats so cool about being a marketing tool for Sony, blue-ray, hd-dvd, and microsoft? They're still making suckers out of all of us, making millions of dollars because we're too much of lazy generation and rather sit our asses down than go outside and chase the f*cking butterflies.

COD4 isn't exclusive there buddy. Most of my hours are logged on that game.
Also, since my roommate has a 360 I've played COD4 on that as well. And after talking with a lot of XBOX owners the consensus is that COD4 is better than Halo 3. So much for the best game ever made. 27 Million copies on release day is pretty damn impressive for anything I can say that, but the fact that Halo is tailored towards 12 year old boys just makes it a pretty standard video game. Go ahead, take a cheap shot at Ratchet & Clank being for 12 year old boys too. That's cool. I enjoy playing the occasional E rated video game that isn't a sport's game just as I enjoy watching animated films. I guess you're too mature for such juvenile stuff.

Let the corporation war have there fun...I'm not a Metal Gear fan and I'm certainly not a Final Fantasy fan either but those games are "top" notch for PS. Until this GTA is release, all the GTA's were release on PS only until San Andreas release on xbox. There in it for the money.
All in all, I don't give a f*ck about Microsoft OR Sony...as long as I'm playing a fun game with some friends and having a good time, that's all that counts on that note...

That fact is PS3 doesn't have one good game you can't get for XBOX 360. All their other games are ass. The system has been out for a year and there is still no one game worth buying the system for -- and all the premere games coming out for the system can also be bought for the XBOX 360.
SONY lost all it's market share, it's exclusives and destroyed it's brand. Those are facts!
None of the time you wasted digging up those numbers change those facts.
I know literally dozens of people who used to have the PS2 and now have the XBOX 360 and now swear they will never own a PS3.
I don't care if they're giving the thing away. I'd drop kick the mutherf*cker.
Have fun playing Metal Gear 4.

That's true. Some game delays are due to the fact that developers have more to work with on PS3. I know Stranglehold was delayed because they added the film Hard Boiled to the Blu-ray disc and Medal of Honor Airborne was delayed because they added SIXAXIS functionality to the game. Those are really the only 2 cross-platform games I can recall being delayed for PS3 and thankfully they both suck so I didn't get either.
As for GTA, they didn't delay it because the PS3 is hard to develop for. If you recall the GTA series used to be Sony exclusive. Just because Microsoft bribed Rockstar for exclusive downloadable content doesn't make it an XBOX developed game, if anything they are working on that downloadable content for XBOX. They clearly released a statement at the time of the delay that said they wanted more time to polish the game, which is good because the graphics were looking pretty bad for next-gen.
As for XBOX, you are definitely spending more money than PS3 owners even though Microsoft will be the first to boast their system's lower price.
Based on Amazon Prices:
PS3
40GB PS3 = $399.99
Wireless = Included
Blu-ray = Included
Rechargeable Controller = Included
Online Play = Free
Most Downloadable Content = Free
Premium Gaming = $399
XBOX 360
20GB 360 = $349.99
Wireless Adapter = $97.99
HD-DVD Add On = $159.99
Rechargable Battery Pack = $11.99
XBOX Live Gold 1 Year Card = $43.99
XBOX Live 1600 Points Card = $19.99
Premium Gaming = $683.94
Hmmm? $400 versus $684 with all the software and hardware benefits of a PS3? I wonder which one I'll choose. But I guess it depends on which system is right for you.
It may sound like I'm being an ass right now, and I know plenty of people who love and enjoy their 360's. In fact my roommate has 360 and I play Call Of Duty on it all the time (only because my PS3 is back at home with my brother), but I hate it when people tell me that XBOX is cheaper and has more games and that PS3 blows chunks when clearly in every category PS3 is extremely superior as a gaming and entertainment console. You can't argue with facts.

The X360 and PS3 are geared toward different people Kaya. I don't mind plugging an ethernet cord into the back of my 360. I don't mind paying for the Live service because its only 8.65 a month for me. Oh and I got rechargeable batteries that I can use for both my Wii and 360 controllers. And I don't really pay attention to the "loud" disc tray because I'm playing the game and my attention is focused elsewhere.
One thing I really like about the 360 is that the developer's kit is easier to use than the PS3 kit. Yay I get my games faster, BUT I can't play GTA 4 because the PS3 version isn't done yet(read an article on Gamespot about it). The developer said that the PS3 kit is a little too complicated and takes longer to make games with.
Now I've worked at a blockbuster for about two years now and most of the people who rent Blu-ray movies are people who have PS3's. I always ask them what their favorite game for it is and 6 times out of 10 they say "Well I don't actually play games on it, it was just a cheaper Blu-ray player" and then they give me the recurring shrug.
As for the HD-DVD thing, I'm not getting either new format until I know who will win. I know that Blockbuster has announced they are going Blu-ray, but some stores still carry HD. Who knows. I might just have to buy a blu-ray player on ebay

PS3:
Wireless Ready
Blu-ray ready and 1080p DVD upscaling.
Rechargeable Controllers
Free Online (better than XBOX)
No need to buy stuff or use achievement points, every demo, video, is free.
60GB model backwards compatible all the way to PS1
System is more powerful, no denying it.
Cheaper in the long run since we don't pay for online and batteries, and High Def add ons, and wireless capability.
Metal Gear Solid 4, PERIOD! Oh yeah, Resistance, Uncharted and Ratchet & Clank are awesome too.
System runs quiet, no loud humming, no overheating, no hardware failures, no red circle of death. No need for our company to offer free 3 year warranty on hardware, because the system is well built.
No clanky rackety disc tray.
Games use Blu-ray, meaning we can hold 50GB of data on a single disc.
Reasonable sized models. 20GB 40GB 60GB 80GB, pick one that's right for you. Not f*cking only 20GB or a massive 120GB.
XBOX 360:
Not wireless ready (need wireless adapter to play online wirelessly), whoops $100 more
no HD-DVD ready playback, gotta buy that too, whoops $200 more. Jeez, I'm almost paying as much as I did for the f*cking XBOX. And I still need batteries for my controller and I need to buy XBOX Live Gold.
Big exclusive title is Halo 3 which is honestly a pretty standard video game, nothing great. Mass Effect and Gears Of War are lame-o. Other than that PS3 gets every game 360 does.
Gotta pay to play, boo. I already paid for the game, why am I f*cking paying for online?
Controllers use batteries? Why am I paying for batteries, ever hear of rechargeable batteries?
You can kill someone with those huge ass controllers too, why the hell are they so big and heavy?
System is loud as f*ck, sounds like a generator, I'm trying to watch an HD-DVD on this HD-DVD add on with my two studios worth of HD-DVD titles, shh XBOX I can't hear!
Choose from 20GB or 120 GB? How about a normal size?
Is XBOX 360 more popular? Yes! Yeah, well just because Saw IV opens to 36 million dollars doesn't make it a masterpiece. The XBOX has 1 year ahead of Sony and a cheating company who pays for exclusive rights and more commercials.
PS3 is better, period. I just stated why.

i feel bad for anyone who bought a ps3. sony had a good thing and totally blew it. at this point sony could f*ck up toast. there is not 1 9.5 game for the system. they lost all their exclusives. this is yet another problem for a bad console.
this link pretty much sums it up.

Any format is bound to have issues. Thankfully this is the only full out "glitch" of Blu-ray when HD-DVD as I said has had numerous problems with their format. The fact that not everyone is experiencing this glitch is good, meaning it was just a minor oversight when considering hardware.

This is the first glitch reported versus the endless complaints of the sh*t HD-DVD/DVD combo discs that keep freezing and skipping. Besides, my friend said he watched his version all the way through with zero problems on a PS3. Those damn pointless combo discs have been causing HD-DVD consumers problems since the beginning.
