More Hulk for Tim Blake Nelson?
The Playlist recently chatted with actor Tim Blake Nelson, who revealed that he is still signed onto future installments of the Hulk franchise, where he will reprise his role as Samuel Sterns from the 2008 movie The Incredible Hulk, if asked to do so.
Tim Blake Nelson wants to return as The Leader in future Hulk movies
However, he isn't sure how the Hulk universe will play out after The Avengers hits theaters. Here's what he had to say below when asked if he is still signed on for future Hulk sequels:
"I am, but it's a question as to whether they'll make more movies, which was the [original] intention, or whether they'll take a fresh start with the villains, since they switched Bruce Banner to Mark Ruffalo
. I certainly very much want to return as the Leader and I hope they'll have me. The intention was that I would come back, which is why my head starts to, um, bubble, at the end. It's just a question as to whether a) they're going to make more Hulk movies, and b) because of Ruffalo
, if they're going to use me again."
In the comic books, Samuel Sterns transforms into the Leader after being exposed to the same gamma radiation that turned Bruce Banner into The Incredible Hulk. With The Avengers still a few years off, it will be interesting to see how the The Incredible Hulk saga plays out.
The Incredible Hulk was released June 13th, 2008 and stars Edward Norton, Liv Tyler, Tim Roth, William Hurt, Tim Blake Nelson, Ty Burrell, Christina Cabot, Peter Mensah. The film is directed by Louis Leterrier.
Marvel's The Avengers was released May 4th, 2012 and stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Tom Hiddleston, Clark Gregg. The film is directed by Joss Whedon.
