Ridley Scott offers new Alien Prequel details
Director Ridley Scott recently spoke with The Independent and revealed new information on his Untitled Alien Prequel, which will be shot in 3D. Here's an excerpt from the site's article:

"The film will be really tough, really nasty," he notes. "It's the dark side of the moon. We are talking about gods and engineers. Engineers of space. And were the aliens designed as a form of biological warfare? Or biology that would go in and clean up a planet?"

We reported back in April that Ridley Scott was planning on making two 3D prequels. We also reported at the end of July that Lost co-creator Damon Lindelof was rewriting the script, which was originally written by Jon Spaihts.

It wasn't clear when this Untitled Alien Prequel would go into production, but we'll be sure to keep you posted with any new information as its made available.

Prometheus comes to theaters June 8th, 2012 and stars Noomi Rapace, Michael Fassbender, Charlize Theron, Idris Elba, Sean Harris, Kate Dickie, Logan Marshall-Green, Guy Pearce. The film is directed by Ridley Scott.

Thats okay, I have a feeling this prequel will be sweet with its 2 parts. Then it'll be that, Alien, and Aliens for me as the complete story. For Predator, its Predator then Predators and once the sequel to Predators comes out, that'll be the great trilogy I wanted it to be.

I hated the fact they got killed off to, but that was actually up to the writing. The director simply executed it. Fincher didn't have a big enough name yet, to change things around. Not that it's a viable excuse, but again, he was up and coming and he jumped at the chance to do a franchise as successful as it was. I am over it, and the film, had good parts and bad parts, so it was just meh to me. A nice Saturday night watch.

Fincher has made leaps and bounds since Alien 3, but that doesn't take away that I hated that movie. One thing that is an instant turn off for me is when characters I like get bitched, and they commit that sin too much with that installment.

  4. The Narrator: The Better Man

Alien 3's main issues were its writing, and the majority of the films acting. Fincher did pretty decent, considering it was one of his first films. He has definitely improved throughout the years, and has come out to be one of Hollywoods best filmmakers. Looking forward to The Social Network.

So pumped for this! Definitely on my most anticipated list.

If anyone else was doing this movie I might be a little worried, but its Ridley Scott, the guy is a friggin genius.....and the fact that he is retuning to his sci-fi roots makes it that much more exciting! Cant wait!

In regards to Halo...im a PS3 person, but I'm impressed with the games story...So not seeing any news on halo or it being in development hell is bull cause i have seen the trailers for the reach game, and for the samsung galaxy, and they look las if it were the film itself, so forget getting a top director and have the xbox team do it themselvs

@Skywise.... your not the only one bud... i think after seeing it in 91, i was disapointed with it, but have gained a huge fondness for it over the years. i agree that it stood on its own merit and it was a bit sad to kill off two great characters, but it brought the whole sense of these creatures, that have basically taken everything from ripley. cheers though, glad to see another fan of the third one.

on to the topic at hand though... i am really eager to see this film upon its release. i hate solving too much mystery with characters... ala boba fett or the presumed halo film in development hell, but i think that scott has a plan and will be interested in taking that journey through his eyes.

I'm probably the only person on earth that actually like alien 3. Granted, it was not nearly as good as the original which is pure genius or its awesome sequel but it stoof on its own and like the first two movies offered something new and different. Part 4 was an abomination tho and that sucks that it was Jean-Pierre Jeunet American debut because that man is talented and he will be forever hated as the man who truly killed the alien franchise. well....you know what i mean.

I liked both Alien and Aliens, but I too prefer the original. Hope this plays out well. Very eager to see some concept art and what-not.

I know, they totally ruined it after 2. Far as I'm concerned, the rest never happened. I like to think the little girl and the guy survived, not bitched the way they were in the 3rd. F*ck that.

I prefer the original but they are both fantastic films. And then there's alien 3, resurrection, vs predator, and requiem. Awful movies..
