@diaigma i usually do but again my friends are not quite the movie buff that i am and so dont really care to see who played Mutant #3 in X-Men 2 know what i mean? But yes, i stick around for the credits when i can.

@skywise - Do you stick around to watch the credits?

@diaigma your absolutly right, the masses for the most part dont even know the director or producer of films. Of all my friends i am the only one who really keeps up with that sort of the thing. I think that most people just see movies if they think the trailer looks good and in so doing miss out on a lot of great films (especially of the indie type).

its only us hardcore movie geeks that this really affects.

@bawnian-dexeus - you're on to something, my friend!

@skywise - yep. Either make sequels (or a franchise) in a close amount of time in a linear direction for continuity's sake or spin offs. Only way to go, but I suppose the masses don't really think or care about that sort of thing :P

i really loved the short they played before Toy Story 3..highly original and unique. Pixar has it in them to pull that off again but it seems like latelky they haveb een trying to make aquick busk

I'm surprised they haven't made a film about the lamp, besides the short

@diaigma i have neverbeen much on the prequel bandwagon but i see y our point. No easy task i am sure.

    @bawnian-dexeus - and Woody . . .

Second point. Doesn't this go against that statement of theirs, that they'd never do a sequel unless it "advances the characters and story," or something like that? Yeah. You can't do that with a prequel. The character and story is already established. Going back in time is a step back. Lies! :D

Third point. Computer animation advances all the time. Monster's university will look amazing, I'm sure, but won't a "Crystal" clear, fully HD prequel make the original (next in the sequence) look outdated by about . . . ten years? Absolutely!

End of rant. Seriously this time :P

  10. Diaigma

@skywise - I certainly agree with you on that, but this still reeks of "Dumb and Dumberer." My reasoning? For one, the original cast is coming back, right? Ten years later, for a prequel. Not only do they have to try and sound ten years younger, to match what they did ten years ago, but even younger than that! That will require a lot of talent on their part to pull off successfully. After all, the 15 year difference in voice is VERY apparent from Toy Story's 1 to 3.

    Make Newt! End rant :P

This, for reasons unknown to even myself, sits better with me than the Cars sequel.

IMO, I luv the idea of this being a prequel. Because, really, who would watch a Monster's,Inc. movie where all they did were making kids laugh rather than 'learning how to be a great scarer'?

@brady1138 - I've only complained about Cars 2, granted, since three years ago.

@mike-garand - I was all for a 3rd Toy Story, but you can go ahead and be part of the generalizing "sheep-herd" who thinks Pixar can do no wrong.

You obviously missed the Brave post, since everyone is loving THAT concept :P

Can't wait! Look, every year, people always comment about how terrible the next Pixar film is going to be, before being proven completely wrong. I doubt this will be an exception.

i just re-watched monsters inc a couple weeks ago and it was still great.
i'd totally watch a sequel, although to be honest i would wait to rent it.

Oh the repetition of the human sheep-herd. Every time a concept for a new Pixar movie is announced, people start bitching about it. And then it comes out, and they call it the best one yet.

Anybody remember Toy Story 3? I do. These threads were full of people saying that 2 was enough, at that they "shouldn't ruin it."
And oh, what did it end up becoming again? The "TOP GROSSING ANIMATED FILM OF ALL TIME?"
    That's what I thought...

...? A prequel?? I guess that's the only way they can save the premise since we had a happy, resolved ending at the end of the first one. But I also agree with everyone else, give us The Incredibles!

I wish they would just do the Incredibles and leave this alone.

We already know what Monsters Inc 2 is gonna be about. It's when Mike and Sully are in Scare University (or something like that) and at first they were rivals, but then they become best friends.
