Monopoly lands screenwriters Scott Alexander and Larry Karaszewski
The project had previously been set up at Universal Pictures, although the studio recently dropped the movie last month, along with another board game adaptation, Clue. Until these movies can find a studio home, Hasbro, which makes the board games, is funding the development of these projects.
Back in March, Hasbro CEO Brian Goldner spoke about the story of Monopoly. Take a look at what he had to say below.
"Monopoly is still happening, and we're developing a great story. It's a very fun take. Ridley Scott is still the perfect creative steward, because he creates these great, fictionalized worlds. It's going to be a very fun story to tell. It's a very human and personal story. It's not really Wall Street, not at all. It's a fictionalized story of a family, and there's a lot of intrigue in the story. Suffice it to say, it's a story about a family with a history, and we're projecting that into current times. But it's not Wall Street.' It's more about property ownership and of the play-pattern of the game."
Monopoly is in development . The film is directed by Ridley Scott.

Why is Ridley doing this horsesh*t?

I'm betting that transformer/alien things will hide in plain sight, probably as houses or hotels, just waiting for their chance to eat the humans that walk in through their doors. This would be perfect for Channing Tatum.

Clue was already done and it was done quite brilliantly. No need for another remake of that but at least that game had a clear cut story line. You dont have to much work to do whereas Monopoly has no characters or story.

Oh jeez, you think good luck rolled round when the studio dropped it, and now it's back up and running again.
