Mitch Pileggi confirmed for Supernatural return
The site confirmed Pileggi's return to the show with Supernatural showrunner Sera Gamble, who also shed some light on the character's return.
"For one thing, he's a Campbell - from Sam and Dean's mom's side of the family," reminds Gamble, "which, unlike their dad's, has actually been into hunting for a very long time. There's a whole side of Sam and Dean's history that they know nothing about. We'll get to find out a bit about it this season."
The site is also reporting that the show is searching for an an actor for a new character this season named Christian. Here's how the site describes the character.
"In other Supe news, the show is on the prowl for an actor in his late-30s to mid-40s to play the recurring role of Christian. Described as 'capable, calm under pressure, and very good at his job,' Christian has a special relationship to Sam and Dean."

@remy - you and i have discussed this before man. if they dont stray from the dean and same chemistry, along with cas and bobby, itll be perfect. john needs to be brought back to some extent, at least i am hoping for, esp since jdm said he would love to come back to the series. im glad to see pileggi is returning. a new character? idk. obviously sounds like he is a hunter but i need to know more.

im siked he is coming back, but a new character i don't know i hope they don't mess it up and make it a trio, Dean and Sam have great chemistry just the way they are especially with Castiel and Bobby by their side, i do hope they bring the Father John back, Its simple really, Have him come back as a angel, it would be really cool
