Mischa Barton will star in the independent stalker thriller Homecoming, according to Variety.

Morgan J. Freeman (Hurricane, Dawson's Creek) will direct the film, which will also star Matt Long, Jessica Stroup and Michael Landes.

The story centers on a former small-town golden boy and his new girlfriend who visit his hometown and discovers his high school sweetheart (Barton) has developed an unhealthy obsession with him.

Frank Hannah (The Cooler) wrote the screenplay.
