Multi-hyphenate Mike White is getting into the holiday spirit in a very unusual way with a new true-story film. According to Variety, White will write the new comedy film Santa Wars for Paramount.

The film will be based off a true story of two men who performed as shopping-mall Santa's and formed a union dubbed Amalgamated Order of Real Bearded Santas. Some time thereafter, the pair became harsh rivals.

The idea came from a segment on Ira Glass' radio show "This American Life," which was written by Joshuah Bearman, who will serve as an executive producer on the film.

No production schedule was released for the film.
