Mike Myers to Make Another Austin Powers Film
When asked if a trilogy might be too daunting of a task, Myers replied, "That was a joke. I just love the bluster of saying that it's a trilogy. Yes, it's a twenty-five part series. No it's not. I'm just joking."
Myers was also asked if the Sprockets movie was dead. He said, "Nothing is dead. The way I would want to do Sprockets is super crazy low budget. I'd want to do it on camera phone. Something that is more apt to it. Maybe I'll make it on something like an Etch-A-Sketch. The Coffee Talk Lady movie I could do. I love the character. I just don't know. I have so many planes circling the airport."
Mike did admit that his next film would be The Love Guru, saying, "The Love Guru is a Canadian kid who was left in India. He was raised in an ashram, and becomes a guru. He has to help a star player for the Toronto Maple Leafs who has gone off the rails. He has to get it together to win the Stanley cup." He went on to tell us that he has worked on the character for about a year, doing secret shows in small theaters.
When asked if he would be playing more than one character in The Love Guru, Myers stated, "I'm on the fence. There are a couple I could do. I'm not sure. There are so many forces at work; it's a hard thing to juggle."
The Love Guru begins shooting in August.
Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery was released May 2nd, 1997 and stars Mike Myers, Elizabeth Hurley, Michael York, Mimi Rogers, Robert Wagner, Seth Green, Fabiana Udenio, Mindy Sterling. The film is directed by Jay Roach.
