Mike Mitchell to Direct Shrek 4

Mike Mitchell is currently in talks to direct the next Shrek sequel. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the film has been written by Tim Sullivan and will revolve around the continuing adventures of Shrek and his Far, Far Away friends. No title is set.

The film series is based on the children's book "Shrek!" written by William Steig. Josh Klausner recently rewrote the book to coincide with the third film's release.

The Shrek series has made a lot of money for Dreamworks Animation. The first movie grossed $484.4 million worldwide, while the second one raked in $920.7 million.

There is no word on when the film will go into production, but the film is set for a 2010 release date.

Shrek Forever After was released May 21st, 2010 and stars Mike Myers, Eddie Murphy, Cameron Diaz, Antonio Banderas, Julie Andrews, Jon Hamm, John Cleese, Craig Robinson. The film is directed by Mike Mitchell.
