Mickey Rourke to Star in St. Vincent

Mickey Rourke is adding another project to his growing slate. According to Variety, Rourke has signed on to star in St. Vincent.

Walter Hill is directing from a script by Cameron Young, which centers on a hitman who returns to his old New York neighborhood to finish off the murder on an informant that went awry. He takes refuge pretending to be a priest, but he then finds himself taking confessions from the man he's supposed to kill.

No production schedule was released for the film.

    Mr Fixit: to be honest I can't really see which bad guy roles you're talking about, his best roles in the past weren't such. Year of the Dragon, Barfly, Angel Heart, Johnny Handsome... he always played the good guy. :P

    If he actually takes the role, I hope it's going to be filled with a lot more than just confession scenes and him reflecting on his evil ways. I mean come on, Mickey can be a total badass bad guy as he has proven in the past. I want to see him return to some of those roles.
