Mickey Rourke is up for the role of Conan's father
The site is just reporting, though, that an offer has gone out to Rourke, and it isn't clear if Rourke has responded to the offer or not.
Conan is locked for a shooting start date of March 15 in Bulgaria, with Marcus Nispel directing.
Conan the Barbarian was released August 19th, 2011 and stars Jason Momoa, Stephen Lang, Rachel Nichols, Ron Perlman, Rose McGowan, Bob Sapp, Leo Howard, Steven O'Donnell. The film is directed by Marcus Nispel.

Why not Conan himself!!!??? c`mon.. hes perfect.. big, gritty. and with an evil eye.. he looks the part more than anyone else.. but i`ll settle for conans father.. as i`m sure they turn to a younger actor for Conan himself.. (as that guy who was announced last week) anyway.. anything with Rourke these days are dynamite!!!.. Iron man 2!!!???

I like this guy, approve here to this role. So, if he will be the father of Conan her mother should be a 'morena', ayt, cause Jason Momoa is 'moreno'. Well, good luck to this movie. I liked the Schwarzenegger version, btw.

Stop calling it a f*cking remake like Arnold is the one and only Conan and no one can ever at least try to portray the character again.
Glad they've started casting and that they're considering heavy hitters like Rourke in the supporting cast.
