The film will be based off the book of the same name by Phil Carlo, which recounts the tale of Richard Kuklinski, a hitman for the mafia who murdered more than 200 people. Producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura originally had secured the rights to Carlo's book, but the option expired in August when di Bonaventura wanted Channing Tatum to play Kuklinski, and Carlo disagreed. Rourke then met with Carlo and the pair immediately clicked.
"We hit it off beautifully," Carlo said. "We're producing it together. We'll shoot in the spring in New York, New Jersey and Florida."
The Iceman comes to theaters in 2012 and stars Michael Shannon, David Schwimmer, Winona Ryder, Chris Evans, Ray Liotta, Maggie Gyllenhaal. The film is directed by Ariel Vromen.

THANK GOD THEY DIDNT GET THAT IDIOT TATUM TO DO THIS ROLE!!!! the man has ONE expression and ONE tone of voice and he's a terrible actor. he needs to stick with the 'step up' series if he wants to act. (or whatever he calls it)
rourke on the other hand is perfect for this role. i've seen the hbo doc*mentary on the ice man and i can very easily see mickey filling those shoes.

Awwwwww, this sucks me and Joker's wild actually sent Carlo interest in doing this, but hmmmmm i dunno.
James Gandolfini fits the role more but Rourke can be a bad ass as well, but James looks more like Richard.
Ahhhh well i doubt it shoots in spring though a screenplay isnt even ready
