Michael Shannon spotted on the set of Superman: Man of Steel
The actor recently revealed a bit about his participation in the Zack Snyder directed DC Comics reboot, admitting that he actually hasn't watched Superman II all the way through, because he is incredibly intimidated by what Terence Stamp did with the role of Zod.
"I find that pretty intimidating, honestly. I think he pretty much nailed it. My girlfriend had it on. She was watching it out of curiosity. And I saw it and said: 'You've got to turn it off! I can't watch that! I'm not worthy!"
The actor was also asked if he reads Superman comic books. In no way being diplomatic or trying to appease the fanboys, he admitted that he actually doesn't read any kind of comic books.
"Oh, no, Jesus! I can't read comic books. They don't make any sense to me. I find they're very hard to follow. I'm never sure which panel to look at, and then I just get confused."
Lastly, Michael Shannon spoke about the suit he is required to wear as Zod, admitting that he was a bit uncomfortable in the black jumpsuit, which will be enhanced by CGI when the film hits theaters.
"It's kind of embarrassing. It's nothing I would wear under normal circumstances! It had to happen eventually, right? Either that or fade into obscurity! It's good to do something like this. It's good to take on that kind of responsibility, be a grown up, be able to feel that pressure and be OK with it. And, let's face it, it's not neuroscience!"

I cant wait to see a trailer for this, Everytime i think of Zod I think of that robot chicken sketch where he is leading like A Jazzercise class or something and he is just saying 1 BEFORE ZOD 2 BEFORE ZOD. haha it always makes me laugh.

I believe that this is going to kick some major ass. They stumbled with Superman Returns (a shame, Routhe was pretty good as Reeves Superman. Didn't like Spacey as Luthor though) and they've learned their lesson.
