Michael Moore's Fahrenheit 9/11 Sequel Coming in 2009

Paramount Vantage and Overture Films will co-finance and distribute Oscar&#174 winner Michael Moore's next film, a searing and provocative follow up to his groundbreaking 2004 documentary Fahrenheit 9/11. The announcement was made today by Moore, Nick Meyer, President of Paramount Vantage, John Lesher, President of Paramount Film Group, and CEO Chris McGurk and COO Danny Rosett of Overture Films. Paramount Vantage will handle international distribution in all media and Overture will handle domestic distribution in all media. Paramount Vantage will be launching the film into the international marketplace this week in Cannes. The film is scheduled for release in 2009.

Moore has made three of the top five highest-grossing documentaries of all time including Fahrenheit 9/11, 2008 Academy Award&#174 nominee Sicko, and Bowling for Columbine, the Academy Award&#174 winner for Best Documentary in 2003. He has also written and starred in the TV shows TV Nation and The Awful Truth, both of which established his trademark style of presenting serious documentaries in humorous and engaging ways. As with all of Moore's projects, the subject matter of the new film is being kept under wraps by all the principals.

"It's great to be working again with Chris McGurk and John Lesher," said Moore. "Both of them have been exceptional to work with in the past and I look forward to their assistance in this new project."

"We are thrilled to be working with Michael again," said McGurk and Rosett jointly. Adding, "His fearless filmmaking has become an important catalyst for challenging mainstream thoughts and values regarding the important critical issues facing this country and the world. Everyone on the Overture team is delighted to be involved with Michael's exciting new film."

"Michael is one of the most inspiring, innovative and thought-provoking filmmakers of our generation," said Meyer. "With his unquestionable mark on our culture and politics, Moore is renowned and iconic within the international marketplace and we could not be more enthusiastic about this partnership."

Most of the principals involved have previously worked with Moore - John Lesher represented Moore as one of his agents at Endeavor and was involved in Fahrenheit 9/11, and McGurk and Rosett, while at MGM/United Artists, oversaw the release of Bowling for Columbine.

Fahrenheit 9/11 was released June 25th, 2004 and stars Ben Affleck, Stevie Wonder, George W. Bush, James Baker III, Richard Gephardt, Tom Daschle, Jeffrey Toobin, Al Gore. The film is directed by Michael Moore.

no, what I think M.M. is doing is just ENLIGHTENING America as to what they may be blinded from, the government spends a lot of time and effort keeping the public in the dark, and he is just shedding some light, what we do with the knowledge is our own choice however that is where our opportunity to solve the problem lies.

Well, most filmmakers don't have any power in how our world is, so they make movies to express thier opinions. That's what any good filmaker does, but michael moore just pushes it

ok, moore makes all these doc*mentaris about how bad our country is and all our problems, but does he try and solve them, besides just makign a doc*menary and makign money off of it? i dotn think he does, which means he is just in it for the money

"i mean in about a year bush will be gone, and we'll have someone new" That may be true systemof9191, but then we'll have another president who'll f*ck things up even more so michael moore will make a friggin doc*mentary about it

Oh ya, and to talk about this Fahrenheit 9/11 Sequel, I'm not surprised. Moore loves to bash Bush for everything he's done. When the movie was release, Bush was just starting, since then, there more stuff that happend until now so I'm pretty sure the sequel will be based on that.

Being the president of america is surely not an easy job, but the choices that he made and the influences are what made f*ck up. This story went back to his dad when he was leader. Funny that when Bush jr turned president, a couple of months after, the attacked happend and for some reason, instead of sending troops to Afghan, he sent them to Iraq. I dunno, as a Canadian, I hate Bush and everything he's done as a president. He did sweet sh*t when Katrina hit New Orleans. Because of his useless war, the economie is going down. I just can't wait for the other election to step in. The next President is gonna have a huge mess to clean up when Bush is out.

Btw I'm talking about Bush not Micheal (I wish I was clever) Moore. You can't bitch about America's (thin) president, and the health care system when you, yourself are a fat ass. Seriously. It's silly.

I don't hate him I could care less about his "leadership" lol. He's a spokesperson for America, like he actually does any work? I hardly doubt it. Maybe a yes or no here and there but I'm sure he isn't really pulling much strings. I bet there is a lot of f*cking pressure being a president, you have like literally every issue in your face at all times and you can't please everyone, even if you wanted to. I say give him a break, if I were on tv in front of my fellow americans giving a speech, I'd f*ck up the speech too lol. He seems like that good next door neighbor type who isn't cool enough to hang out on any personal level but ok to chat with while you're out getting your mail or newspaper lol. It's all about character, not what he has accomplished or not accomplished. Unless he infact, unrecordingly, has walked on water lol. Then it might be a different story altogether lol.

I understand what you are trying to say JaCoby and I agree with you that Moore deserves credit when its due, but why make another Fahrenheit 9/11? The first one was made to persuade people not to elect Bush for a second term. Sicko was made to try to raise awareness about how f*cked up our healthcare system is. His films have been made to try to get people aware about pressing issues. How can he say anything of importance about Bush when the film is going to be released after his term is up? I'm sure the film is going to be one big Bush-bash and everyone in the country (even conservatives) hates the guy already. So what, is Micheal Moore going to restate what everyone already feels? This movie is pointless.

lol you guys make me laugh, if you watched sicko you would be happy to know he's dropped weight. I will admit 9/11 was heavily biased(so much so I would compare it to Fox news) but give the man his dues he was correct. I like how people also diss Al Gore for making Global Warming a political topic in which people believed it was a laughable subject only to increase his political position. He has shown no motive to return to office and President Bush has since signed legislature to decrease greehouse emissions. As Gandhi said, first they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win.

Since when do f*cking doc*mentaries need a f*cking sequel. Now Al f*cking Gore is gonna get the idea that he can do f*cking "Inconviniant Truth 2: More Inconveniant" movie. What the f*ck r they gonna call this? "Celsius 9/11"? Or "Farenheit 9/12"? Or "Farenheit 9/11 2: The sequel to the movie u never payed to see and yet it started way too many conversations cuz Michael Moore is a f*cking smart ass AND fat ass who thinks he knows everything and had an idea to make a doc*mentary that he now thinks he wants to make a sequel to that will start even more conversations bout a topic that shouldn't even be talked about anymore but the media will grab onto the idea anyway for ratings"?
